How about introducing anchors?

every ship can use as consumables and twice.

when use anchor, ship starts a sudden stop, slight faster stop for small ships.

ship can discard the anchor anytime, after that ship can start a voyage.

it gives more damage to the enemy ship trying collosion.

it gives less effect of wave- increase weapon accuracy, crews' fightig skill is increased- less weapon reload time, stronger AA

water get into the ship slowly- less flooding damage.

anchor has been used symbol of ship and navy, therefore, its reasonable to higher importance of anchor

expectations- it will be very good for avoiding torpedos, firing of BB, enemy collisions and for BB without CV

Not this again.....

Dear OP,

What makes you think an anchor is going to stop a 45 thousand ton ship that is moving at 20 knotts???

Don't you realize that the inertia will be so great that the chain or hawser will simply just snap??

It just will not work.

Next thing you will suggest is this.....

I totally agree we need a "Drop Anchor" consumable.

Default 2 charge with 3 if you have the captain skill Superintendent (Don't ask how we fit the 3rd anchor to the ship WG will figure it out).

Refill cost 250,000 credits

When activated, you will see the anchor drop into the water. There is a 50% chance it will hit the side of your hull on its way down (due to inertial of the moving ship)  and cause damage (based on the weight of the anchor) and flooding. Anchor will then fall into the sea and if you are too far from and shallow water (Around islands) the anchor chain will snap and you ship will keep going, with only a light reduction in speed due to the gasping hole the anchor just created. If you were lucky and the 50% chance the anchor did not rip a hole in the side of your hull, then the anchor will keep going till the end of its chain then snap with no reduction to the speed at all.

Assuming  you managed to drop the anchor in shallow enough water, said anchor will be dragged along the sea floor and after a few seconds, anchor chain will snap, and reducing your speed by 0.1%.

TL;DR : Anchor Drop skill is useless, lets move along now, nothing to see here,

Anchors are used to stop ships from drifting due to ocean currents they are laid down on the sea bed in shallow waters ONLY when the ship is stationary, a 50,000 ton ship would drag the chain on the sea bed and there would be no discernible change to the speed of the vessel.

Does one know how physics works?

Say we have a ship going say 30 knots, then we drop the anchor in the water.

What happens?

I don't know about you but you are looking at either the anchor breaking or putting some very unnecessary stress to the hull.

Hell no, we are in battle similations mode not in naval training move and introducing anchor gonna rekt the ship more than getting hits. Also impossible for a ship moving at a fast speed to drop a anchor to stop a ship as the anchor will just rip off.

If the physics would allow for ships to club haul like in Battleship, I would have done so for fun a long time ago despite knowing that it will damage the decks, winches, losing the anchor in the process and dealing with the flooding.

I'll have a large salted popcorn with a medium coke thanks.

Adding anchors to the game will not happen, if you want to stop fast do what every one else does - run into an island! (Cause that never damages a ship)

While I don't think much of this as an idea since this game needs so much more fixed, the mindless trolls are out in force again spouting their unsubstantiated thoughts on what would happen. The inhabitants of these forums seem like a bunch of petulant, arrogant, egocentric children determined to stomp on anyone else's suggestion in the rudest fashion possible.

Reality is that the chains used on large ships are huge and unlikely to snap or do other damage. What would happen is that the anchor would drag slowing the ship gradually and causing damage to the sea bottom upsetting the conservationists.

However stationary ships are generally less stable so you would not see an increase firing accuracy.

One thing is clear WW2 ship did not use any anchor to stop a ship for better accuraccy or to make a evasive manuver, so even it have it seemply pointless as it will stress the bow and the anchor ripped off. So No way

[Please give me 1 sweee popcorn with 1 large pepsi, thanks]
