Was this named after the Australia New Zealand Army Corps?? if so that is freaking awesome!!

Yes, HMAS ANZAC was named in honor of the Australia New Zealand Army Corps. ANZAC(III) is the name ship of the 10 ships of her class. NZ has 2 ANZAC Class FFH's as well, HMNZ Ships TE MANA and TE KAHA

 

I'm sure dmw or leng will correct me if I'm wrong :P
