Should we have more diverse gameplay?

So anyone feels the game right now offered not too many choices in gameplay and mainly focus on killing enemy objective?

Any wanting for a more dynamic and co-operative and also more objective gameplay? Of course I know it's up to Wargamming to choose, but any suggestion should be awesome to hearing from, for I would love to know about others' ideas.

 

About mine, I'd love to have some suggestion on a more "objective" gameplay, of course, it was just a proposal and I'd love to hear new things and ideas from you guys:

 

1. Escort

 That's what I would always imagine as an important role of the Navy: escorting logistics. My proposal is a gameplay which we would have a fixed number of marine merchant ships going to a destination which is escorted by a team while another team trying to nail these defenseless ships.
Escorting team scores by having each ship reaching destination (let's say, +50 for one), destroying enemy ships (+25 and +40, should be like in Domination); while offensive team scores by destroying merchant ships (same, +50 for one) and destroying escorting ships (+25 and 40, same as in Domination). Both team lose points for having ships destroyed (-40 and -90), while defensive team also losing point for having merchant ship destroyed (-100 should be ideal).

 

2. Fleet Encounter

This one is easier, for each team have a specific player in BB or CV as "Flagship". The mission is to eliminate this player, once the flagship is gone, the timer countdown to 1 minute to sink the other flagship. Once both flagship or timer is out, the game would be draw; contrary, the team have their flagship floating is victorious.

Flagship should have a little 10,000 HP bonus only. None of the offensive ability given any boost, except it was already on his/her ship. And should be noted that the "Flagships" should be on the same tier and was picked up randomly.

 

3. Bombardment

Each team has a base on the ocean, which have let's say, 200,000 HP. The objective is simple enough, bombard the enemy base with bomb, shells and if possible, torp (torp wouldn't do much on base, only 20% of damage) while preventing the enemy from doing the same. It's like standard battle, abeit we don't capture the base, we destroy it.

 

4. Conquest

It start up as normal domination, 3 neutral "area". The difference I'm proposing, is 2 own "base" with the HP like the above one. The base would constantly send out "material" for players to pick up and deliver to "captured area" in order to construct a base. Once a neutral are is captured and received enough "material", it would become a base with let's say, 50,000 HP and any team would have to destroy it to capture the area. Point is given as normal domination, with additional by successfully build up a base (+200 point with +10 point every 10 second) and destroying enemy base (-200 for team losing, +100 for destroying team). This should make a normal domination game more interesting, for each team got a massive bonus and able to complete a game with just building bases (and a little more of it is gunning down other ships).

 

5. Modified encounter

This type of encounter battle is different for taking longer to capture a base and did not end swiftly. For the other team got a winning opportunity by offensively destroying the captured base within given time. 100,000 HP for the captured base is ideal, and within 2 minutes for losing team to destroy it.

 

Well, these are some of my ideas. They are full of flaws, I know, but it would be a lot nicer for the game which is subject to change a lot in the future (with weather implemented, environmental impacts, etc.) Above all, it is an opportunity to be meeting up with players who full of ideas in order to making World of Warships community a more colorful place to be in, to interact with.

 

P/S:

Awesome game-mode: Blue Liner Hunter

Any player who accidently or intentionally riding the blue line for more than 40 seconds become target for everyone else. Their status become RED for both team, even for their fellow blue liners. The player in different teams would race to mow down the blue liners, killin' each others in the process, but they have to kill the blue liners, cuz if they can't in time, both team would be declare "Defeat"... :trollface:

Blueliner cannot shoot anyone in their former team. Not so vice versa... :trollface:

Another way to say, Edge battle FFA :trollface:

Some good ideas there and in a perfect world some of them would be awesome.

Trouble is the term co-operative does not describe the player base. It's hard enough getting players to stay together and move to the right areas let alone coordination to complete objectives.

They would be great for more serious,clan war or such games perhaps.

They sound like great ideas and well thought out, perhaps if they can't be implemented in actual game, they could always be a limited time game like they often have in WoT?

I think the first step toward developing more dynamic and cooperative game play would be the implementation of the WoWS clan equivalent. As it stands you will never get cooperative play from random pubbies.

I did have an idea like your  Bombardment one

was thinking you could have an airfield base on a island at the back of the map in standard mode and it only becomes active when enemy ships try to capture your base  and bombers (B17,HE111 etc depending on tier level of ships) would take off controlled by Ai and try to bomb the ships in the cap. also the ships in the cap could then shell the Airfield and knock the base out so it couldn't launch  Bombers anymore, and it would have to repair it self before bombers could take off again.

repair time of the base could depend on the number of friendly ships that are left, more ships left quicker it fixes it self.

if ships got to close to the airfield again bombers would take off and try to bomb the ships.

I think it would work great on the ocean map just put the base in the N/W and S/E corners of the map cuz that map is rather boring but I do enjoy it. if that make sense lol

Very similar to the escort idea I had in mind. Really think that sort of mode would be a hoot to play from either side.

I think the The escort one already in the WG mind ... I think they even speaking to that will come when everything else are in place ..
but I don't know it will be like you say ... if I understand correctly, you mean that the cargo ship keep coming and following the line and score counting... or maybe it will be one single group of cargo ship and the team have to protecting it until they reach destination .. if half of cargo ship reach destination ... escort team win .. or other team win by destroy more than half of the cargo ... either way it should be fun .. or they just make them both :) 

But I worrie about Fleet Encounter ... If it player controled flag ship then it gonna be some player who just don't know how to play and go to die in first minute and make the all team lost ...


 

Bombardment should be fun ... I think about playing Battlestations ... but maybe it not just one base .... maybe it seperate into HQ, Airfield, Dockyard (This where Torp can do damage to the base) and the base also has own minor defense system (like secondary armament on the ship)

Well I gotta agree that having CW implemented would be a great, great improvement of the game.

In WoT I noticed that CW also evolve around "Stronghold", so in my humble opinion, would the Clan Resources of WoWS evolved around not just winning battle but also winning battle in specific gameplay, and also has more game modes than average public battles.

 

And also the idea of "Escort" in my opinion could also be diversed as well. It could either be a group of transport ship, or a line, or groups coming in line.

 

Bombardment is yeah, surely fun. That's when the DD player starting to shine and BB players starting not to whining about their dispersion :P
