So with the torp reload speeds being decreased for low tier DD's and the Sims getting a second torpedo choice i have a question.

 

Will USN DD's have thier guns unnerfed? That's why i brought the Sims for it's guns, that's why i play USN DD's for thier guns. Trust War gaming to make a whole tree usless in the name of "balance" whine thier precious IJN DD's with thier Klingon cloaking fields get to run amok.

 

So glad one of the IJN DD's is finally getting a nerf. wished all IJN DD's torps had a range of 4.5-5.5km.

IJN DD isn't OP at all, but it's just USN DD hard to do well for their appalling DPM (Not to mention DPS) Despite the Quick ROF.

 

You do like 500 or even None damage to Battleships (Which is the easier target to shoot at due to your Ridiculous Arc and Velocity) - Of course it's hard to play.

And even to a Crusier At Most 1000 damage per salvo if they decided not to dodge.

 

IJN DD is not really good either as torpedo is so easy to dodge - but you know at least if it hit true it will do like 10000 damage.

In a USN DD you probably need to hope for a fire to remotely "Hope" for doing damage close to that.

The more serious problem is that unless you fire at ~11km or more, you will get insta-spotted and the Clevelands/Mogamis or even the BBs will eat you up no problem. You can only dodge so much of their fire. Oh don't forget the Super High Arc and the Rubbish Velocity.

 

USN DD will come good at Benson, but for it's torpedo range, which is contrary to US's trait, funnily enough.

If a class is a **** as everyone says it is, WHY PLAY IT?

 

It's a beta. It's got balance and other issues up the wahzoo.

 

Why people bang their heads against such things when they find them beats me.

 

And then spend money, too. That's hilarious.

Am I the only one who likes US DDs up to tier IV?

 

Clemson is amazing. Nicholas only feel weak because it's compared to the Minekaze, but it's good as well. 

 

Everything upwards is crap until you reach the Benson. Or Fletcher.

You're forgetting that the USN DDs are getting AA barrage so now they can escort larger ships like the Carriers without having a Cruiser do it, so the Cruisers can more often support the Battleships in shelling

Gotta be honest , I see no reason to do that.

AA doesn't give high rewards, on low tiers it's easy enough to dodge torpedoes, on low tiers US DD guns are awesome and it's  not too difficult to get a couple torpedo

shqots off.

well you have to choose if you want Engine boost or AA barrage in the consumables, It just give the USN DDs a special use if you need it, especially on high tiers, Because keeping a Good CV player in the game will help your team in the long run, You only have a max of 2 CV on your team a game.

 

Its not a bad thing to help your Battleships with AA ether at high tiers

Overall USN DD's are more of the Support role with the upcoming Update and not as strike based like the IJN DD's

Realistically, given DD's average AA capacity to begin with, just how much difference will Defensive Fire actually make?

By disrupting enemy planes causing a wide spread for the bombers making it much easer to dodge torpedo and dive bombers, AA barrage also increases your AA damage as well.

 

After all if you take one 

torpedo hit in any DD, your pretty much dead

But really, US DDs seems to be lackluster now than they did on CBT. Back on CBT, US DDs are excellent counter to DDs, to the point that a lowly Sims can even take on Smkz and win. Now, kaput, nada. And with the weird things they're doing with US DDs... it's kinda reminiscent of Ktkm where it got a Smokescreen(iirc?) then went nada. zB3xaGC.gif

You're forgetting that those USN DD only get 1 use of that AA Barrage.

Yes that's right, ONE only.

Meanwhile Yubari gets only 2, and everyone else have unlimited usage.

 

(well atleast that's what I heard from iChase, since I don't play on test server :hiding:)

Yubari has only 1 as well,  

 

plus you can use superintendent for a extra one if you want

 

(I watch a lot from iChase as well)

Exactly. Several YouTubers have been making this point. But gamers are commonly such a stupid, uncritical bunch of kids chasing a sugar hit the idea they should expect at least certain levels of behaviour from devs is entirely beyond  them. Applies right across the industry as far as I can tell.

I liked those in Alpha and CB. Haven't tried them lately.

Wasn't a fan of Nicholas..or was it the one after that?

 

As for 'Barrage" on a DD. LMAO. Yeah, great idea. Let's play AA that gives us no exp/cr. Oh, and we can do it ONCE.

 

Yeah, that'll get everyone rushing to get it.

Oh jeeze i wonder why? Maybe it's due to the fact that when the Sims was available USN DD's were viable. But once it went into OBT they nerfed DD HE because BB's and the like were crying "DD OP"
