Massive Ping dramas

Ok first to placate the "oh no another whinge thread" people . I am loving the game , I like the graphics and the attention to detail .

My problem is I am playing on a 100 to 110 ping link and my first thoughts were this is fantastic much better then the 160 ping I get in WOT

Now the issue is that at 100 ping I am seeing torpedos launched from 2 or 3 ship lengths ahead of where I see the Destroyer I am being torpedo by . Of course when they shoot their guns it always comes from ahead of the ship model I am seeing . I have also noticed a disconcerting aspect to these torpedo's as well , I think I've avoided them and they explode again about a ship length ahead of my ship . what does this mean , well pure and simple I am being shot by ghosts and can't even predict where to shoot as by the time I do shoot their already several hundred metres away from my aim point . All I want is the equivalent ability to actually shoot someone as they have on me . This is like playing WOT on 600 ping or more . Their is clearly a major issue with the way the server displays data if I am so far behind my opponents . By learning to guess where my opponents are I can shoot BB's so long as their slow ones but I can't shoot cruisers or destroyers if their over 22 knots .

I am guessing I'm not the only person in this boat but for a game you want to release to the general public this is not good enough .

Yeah massive ping issues here too.  All today during the day, fine with a few LAG red indicators.  Tonight, just now?  LOLOLOLOLOL.  It's like playing a slideshow the game literally freezes from lag and displays the lag icon every 1-2 seconds.  100 BOOM 190.  100 BOOM 280.  100 BOOM 175.  Over and over.

This isn't a lag issue, it's a desync issue and we really have no clue how or why it happens, but its affecting a small group of players.

Try doing a tracert or plot your ping to login.worldofwarships.jp and post your results.

I don't think there's anything wrong with their connections per se. Its just that desync issues are occurring somewhere down the pipeline. It's not the game, because a lot of people are connecting to the game fine and playing without issues, but its typically not a player connection issue either.

It was fine last night, fine today now suddenly.  Boom, 800ms ping.  It is literally a slide show.  100ms 750ms, 100ms, 650ms, 104ms, 788ms.  Pause, go, pause, go, pause, go.

Really terrible.  I'm wondering if there's work being done in Aust and they are messing with exchanges etc.  Because it's horribly bad atm.

getting the same, sometimes huge spikes reaching 15000 ms. basically slideshow playing, then every oncei n the while it goes normal for 5-10 minutes, then starts again. Serious packet loss to the servers:

Was fine before.  NOPE.  Happening again.  It's worse than a slideshow at 1fps.  100, 1500ms, 106, 789ms.  etc etc etc.

So bad I keep on dying.  I can't even input commands.  Been playing other MMO's and BF4 to pass the time, no ping troubles there at all.  :/

Oh yeah, the match right now.  100ms ping.  Fine.  Enemy team is spotted. WOO HOO!  1100ms ping!  Really?  So seeing the enemy team makes my ping go bonkers?

Same issue here from Australia for the last 4 hours or so. No issues at all prior to today.

Ping constantly spiking or timing out and tracert appears to be following the usual route.

Same issue over here in Perth guys! I'm on a fibre optic network and NEVER have ping issues and this has been happening all day.

Though I also have been playing on the NA servers and they seem to be fine! Might just be a Singapore thing.

It's not a Singapore thing. I've been logged into the server for the past 2 hours or so. There's currently 19k players connected (been hovering between 18k and 19k), and my ping has been rock steady at 30-40ms.

thpugh i haven't used this "tracert" thing yet.

My ping goes from 108 to 150-200-600 with liberal dashing of lag spikes along the way.

I'm not seeing any major issues with Singapore's network (there's no reported outages), and no more lag than usual when accessing other sites. Pinging the server gives an average response of 7-8ms.

EDIT: Wonder if the typhoon has anything to do with it.

Here In Perth it's gotten unplayable.

Was fine last night (usual 35-40ms) and now it's 35 -1500+ but all over the place.

Worst part is you launch a salvo and you suddenly end up a few hundred metres off-target.

Can you guys post what ISP you are with.

I am on TPG Sydney and getting a similar issue, ping fluctuates between 50ms and 100ms. I think this is the cause of it. I have used ping plotter, it looks like the telstra hops are fluctuating in ping times. Literally all the backbone routers are congested. Theres no Quality of service on them to these servers, so it will get laggy. Problem is on the client side we know where the ships are, otherwise we won't get hit detections. But somehow the client is rendered de-synced with where the real ships are.

You can see the graph, and the ping spikes regularly. I have taken this up with TPG to try and reduce the problems with jitter and spikes on hop 3, they made it worse putting me onto another static route which also has the same problems.

A clan mate and I are having the same issues almost every night now. Our ping generally about 110 then every couple of seconds or so it spikes to 200 to 400ms. I am using Internode in Sydney (NBN) and he is using Internode in Wollongong (ADSL2+). We're thinking it is the continuing problems iiNet and Internode are having with congestion due to Netflix users. It's been an ongoing problem for a number of months now.

I have two connections, one internode, other IInet.  Same dslam, same exchange.

No packetloss on either connection tested around the world.

Pingplotter to Asia WOT servers all is showing fine.

But in game, start stop start stop start stop with brief red spikes.

I was on about 70-80MS before it went to hell.  Now it shows about 80-100 but it clearly isn't.

I can't hit any ships, but any stooge sure can hit me.
