I Mean, they must do, considering they now have 3 T8 ships branching off from her.

COLORADO!!!.PNG.1c15da5846b25ac2ac868edd4f24ea90.PNG

Thing is, to fully upgrade the Colorado and unlock all her successors, takes at least 400,000 XP (not sure what unlock amount for Nebraska is, but will ber 100K at least).

Thats more than any single T9 needs to get to a T10, and T7 rewards aren't as high as T9, so that's a lot of games in this ship.

Thing is, while I wouldn't say Colorado is a bad ship, it's always had its issues, mostly its top speed of 21 knots, and has been power crept somewhat by faster, tougher battleships and HE spamming cruisers.

Not to mention CVs and Subs who love slow moving BBs.

It makes it not that much fun to play, yet if you're unlocking everything, you're going to be in this ship a loooong time.

Or you could just use Free XP...

Probably what WG expects you to do. Probably what they wanted you to do in the first place, assuming they even realized they're putting so much behind an underwhelming T7 Standard Battleship. I doubt it.

So anyway, PSA, unless you love playing the Colorado, have some FXP ready to skip ahead on a couple.

This has been an episode of "As usual, WG didn't think this through and don't care"

Seeya!

or the exact opposite.... GET THE NEBRASKA via battlepass.... anyone sane enough but want a BBV will drop their money on battlepass.... the best money for value. most people alreadu unlock North Carolina and if you want vermount, grinding colorado is expected with the same playstyle.

anyway with supership and ton of other T9/T10 sheeps, free XP is easy to get.

Have gone back to playing Colorado to grind the XP needed for Nebraska, and have been getting surprisingly good games in her.

Kinda disagree. Imo she is pretty decent, and her improved Repair Party consumable helps a lot. And she is surprisingly resilient against CVs too, since she has solid AA and tight turning radius (plus you can always swap out spotter planes for fighters). Just make sure you are always moving.

Overall she is a very good introduction to the Vermont line.

In a bit seriousness though, if WeeGee did not went full-on bananas on monetization, some premium ships in this game would have been tech tree ships.

In the American fattleship's case, Tier VII Florida should have been a tech tree ship.

Tier VII Florida branches off from Tier VI New Mexico.

Tier VII Florida opens the progression to Tier VIII North Carolina and Tier VIII Nebraska.

Since Tier VII Florida, was the intended design for Tier VIII North Carolina if Japan and Italy signed the Second London Naval Treaty.

And Tier VIII Nebraska is basically North Carolina hull converted to a hybrid battleship.

Side Note:

Tier VII KGV actually also follows this trend.

The Brtis removed 2 - 357mm guns so that they can stay within the 35,000 ton limit of the Second London Naval Treaty.

Otherwise, Tier VII KGV would have had 12 - 357mm guns.

Same as Tier VII Florida.

Seriousness tends to get boring quick, though.... this is obviously a trap. If you play Colorado, you are 250% more likely to get a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct due to inactivity in the battle.

Still faster than Arizona though. I actually fall asleep when using Arizona, which is rarely since it's so slow and boring.

Yeah, she’d not a bad ship. But her speed can get annoying after time. But I like having running away as an option.

Of course, I’ve been playing her recently in Operations, where speed is sorta more important.

And while I have played them, not a huge fan of the Vermont line. Mostly because of the speed.

Considering how common Colorado is on NA, this isn't that surprising. Almost every T5-7 games I play on NA last week has at least 1 Colorado for each team. But then again, it's NA. Even Omaha can be godlike on that server.

Also, I'd rather grind through Colorado than NC. Slow ship speed can still be dealt with by earlier planning. Slow shell speed on the other hand...

Its pretty easy to grind in ops these days as another option.

Agreed.

A slow BB with only 8 guns on a 30 sec reload which overpen anything lighter than a BB isn't the greatest thing in Ops.

Its slightly preferable than being up against T9s you can't run away from, but only for certain ops.

I've moved from Colorado to Kansas, and I'm still not exactly having a ball with it in ops.

Thinly armoured, slow and wide. Juicy Target for BBs.

Kinda dumb because NC to Neb is a more logical progression. Neb is made with NC hull, after all.

Also, Colorado is utter *****. If she's a BB at T7 and she doesn't even reach 24 knots max sheet speed, she's utter *****. Literal dead weight in certain Operations. Only good in Newport and maybe decent in Killer Whale.

But easier than in randoms where you are very often in +2 MM

Could easily keep up in all the operations I played her in, just had to know where you were going.

Except in Hermes & Aegis, it can still work decently in Ops.

  • Killer Whale = Unless you insist to stay farming on the reinforcements, there is not much difference whether you play Colorado, or any T7 BBs in particular.
  • Narai = Transport ships are just as fast as Colorado, if not a bit more. Most cruisers can outrun the transport ships at just 3/4th speed, but get outrun at 1/2 speed. So I reckon the transport ships' top speed is somewhere around 20 knots.
  • Raptor = Similar to Narai. Unless your ship is capable of sailing at over 32 knots, you are bound to stick with the convoy anyways.
  • Ultimate Frontier =Unless the Colorado is in a division with anything other than BBs, it will always be spawned at the airdrome. Sail eastward as soon as the battle starts & stay there to intercept the 2 cruisers spawned in different waves at the northeast. For the rest of the battle, the Colorado (and any BBs in particular) will only need to stay near the southern entrance of the airdrome, and intercept pretty much anything that approaches the airdrome.
  • Cherry Blossom = Most BBs don't get to do much here, except the German BBs. BB's only significant contribution is to snipe the airdrome from the safe distance.

Colorado is slow, yes. But her guns are still one of, if not the best at T7. The Italians on the other hand... I mean slow ship speed does not make it a deadweight in Ops. Shotguns that take ages to reload does.

Arizona is as slow as well if not slower. I find Colorado and West Virginia to be slightly faster. Slightly--it's still slow that I have to position myself pretty well to make hits.
