I am really struggling to do damage and win games, but I cannot pinpoint what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance!

But anyway , a few tips : Look at the mini map in between strikes and look at enemy composition in flanks. Assess and think which guy you should deliver "democracy and freedom" to first. It is very easy and tempting to continue killing the poor guy in a corner with no AA. Sometimes a soft 1 strike persuasion will give enough deterance to prevent total collapse. Don't always go for the shortest striking path AKA "path of least resistance". Take your time and push enemy evasive action into stupid crap like running into island or crossfire. Don't look at result ! After strike instantly switch to another aircraft to save time. I am guilty of looking at strike results when i should be piloting my next strike. One often overlook option is that if your CV is capable of sniping, take it. It will force enemy CV into hiding and give your team time to breathe. Enemy DD can sometimes be persuaded to go home if the ship supporting it retreat. Identify which ship it is and take care of it if DD is too tough to strike. Learn your own team position in comparison with the enemy. Sometimes when your team all be at the wrong spot at the wrong time it is not worth it to support them. Identify your team own blindspot and wack out any enemy attempt at it. Most commonly being BB at the tail being caught from another angle by a flanking attempt. He's just hitting a slump point and realizing that one CV cannot keep a 12 man team afloat if 3 - 4 of them decide to suicide. But it's valid to seek advice. If he's at 60% , he's mostly have the tactical capacity proficient. He's just need to be proficient at strategic and operational level.

Its good you've seen your errors and have taken the opportunity to talk to the unclean masses so we can assist you in your game play. I mean seriously only 65% win ratio (because it was so low I rounded it up for you), and a PR of almost 2500, you should have come to ask our advice earlier,, with stats like that you're obviously a burden on the team. How did you manage not to drive your team mates mad with the level of game play, you must get better...........So I can give you a couple of options to help you. Option 1 - Obviously you could uninstall the game, why punish other people for your less than Stella play, either that or go and play Tier one PvE for a few thousand games Option 2 - Less difficult, Reset every line for RB points, once you make T.4 CV's, play as many games as the top of each of the leader boards have played, if you can make it to their numbers then surely you must have sorted your issues out (well the game ones maybe - life issues not covered in my assistance - and I charge by the hour - I do have room in my calendar to assist you with your life issues, but because you have a number, I'm looking forward to a new house and Porsche when you have finished). Option 3 - Sell all CV's, only play T.10 BB's, snipe with HE. Option 4 - Play Submarines - If you think the love of CV's is so wonderful in the game, you haven't seen how caring and nurturing people are in the game towards Submarine Captains Option 5 - Getz gudder Hope this help you improve your game play H 😁 Edited October 2, 2022 by H_87A_2CU
3,563 [CLAY] Grygus_Triss Member 4,175 posts 18,583 battles Report post #7 Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) I'm struggling with CVs too. Every time I play against them in my DD I get spotted, and while I can dodge with... some sucess, while spotted I get shot at by all the other enemy ships. ... Oh, you mean struggling with PLAYING CVs... Sorry, can't help you there. But the good news is that you can still be a pain in the aft to enemy ships regardless of how good or bad you play just by keeping enemy spotted. But if you want help from here you're gonna have to post a replay or two for us to actually pinpoint how you might be able to improve. Or just don't, because most players here are not actually that good, or have misleading knowledge about CVs.
530 [KAMI] Verytis Member 845 posts 10,888 battles Report post #10 Posted October 2, 2022 I don't play much CVs so take it with some salt, neither do I imagine theres anything new. If you know any better, I'm open to suggestions. Plot your flight paths around potential travel routes of enemy ships as a form of passive spotting. Balance between spotting and damage. I also make of a habit of occasionally visiting the opposite flank unless I'm preoccupied, just to make sure theres some casual spotting done for the other flank. Focus on ships your allies are also focusing, and help achieve crossfires where practical. These give either easy dmg to yourself or your allies. Focus on high threat ships that are entrenched and impeding your surface ships from advancing. Eg. Island camper, a lone BB holding down a flank. For squadrons like torp bombers which have multiple attack runs, take into account which way your enemy is turning when you drop. This can influence whether you want to turn left or right for the follow-up strike to better reach his broadside. Most DDs don't have a lot of smokes, making them waste one early can be beneficial. Same with an early patrol through the cap, which can potentially give your DD the first move.
