G'day Folks,

Minotaur is finally finished... Apologies it took so long, 2021 happened.

It's a chunky one but does cover smoke, radar and Legendary Upgrade.

I love Mino but I need a break from her... ... ... Bloody xmas teams! haha.

Just as I was putting the video together I noticed an audio issue in all my Minotaur footage and most of it was from pre 10.11, so I had to play her all over again and man were the teams rough!

Mino is unique and should not be treated as just another CL.

Counteradvice:

  • Take at least PT or IFA, if not both. If you're able to keep one eye on the detection icon flashing/ticking, it can help you dodge unexpected shots.
  • Mino radar is a DD spotter and area denial. A smart DD would angle away from you fast to avoid dmg. Don't ever chase after a DD with support behind him, unless you're confident he'll die before you.
  • Having only AP means you prefer to find broadsides to shoot at. You can have the safety of "radar cruiser" islands, but be predictable and easy to angle against. Or you can try to setup cross-firing positions at a higher risk. Smoke helps you do this better tho.
  • The AA is a double edged sword. 6.9km of AA heavily compromises your stealth. You should operate much more carefully when planes are present. You hate the CV just as much as the CV hates you.
  • Superheal's main purpose is to let you get back up and running quickly, not to tank. Your poor armour means you always accumulate irreparable dmg. You'll rarely get full use out of your superheals, except for the first time. Your max effective hp pool is limited to 2x of your base hp. Even the heal flag is useless, so don't use consumables mod for this. That said, you're effectively immune to fire and flooding as long as it doesn't cause you to take more shell dmg or die.
  • Double rudder is also very strong, at the price of worse air detection and weaker DD spotting. But it makes you much more effective against other ships in open water. Traditional Mino fills a CL slot but counters DDs, which makes it more prone to poor MM.

 

PS: There is some lost potential I'd like to have seen, but I should stress that its still a good video and such works takes time and effort. I do not in anyway wish to shame on that. One could easily ask why I didn't make one myself instead of butting in.

Many of those points are covered in earlier videos in some way (although obviously not in context) but good points.

Some of the stuffs I actually cut out as I aim for these reviews to be bite-sized chunks at around 10 minutes... This was already 17...

For example your heal point; I basically says 'Mino is not a durable ship despite her superheal' which is my short way of saying the same thing, and then I have clips of getting nuked and healing some of it back...

The combination is intended for the audience to draw that conclusion.

Another example is the AP point, the line of reviews starts off explaining RN CL AP, the reiterates it as the videos progress, slightly less each time and ends up around Fiji-Edin with 'as seen on the rest of the line'.

You don't need to apologise, I sincerely appreciate the feedback - I LIKE criticism particularly if it's constructive...
