I'm just wondering. I've reset 2 lines before but I didn't think to test it when I reset the lines. 🤔

What about the modules?
Do they get automatically demounted (for free) or sold?
If the get sold then your Legendary modules or the special ones are gone for good or what?

  • All ship XP Ship XP is moved to the Tier I ship,
  • Mounted Upgrades are de-mounted to Inventory at no cost,
  • Mounted camouflages, skins, and signals are de-mounted,[5]
  • Commanders are moved to Reserve (slots are added when necessary),
  • The ships in port are sold for credits Credits at the normal Sell price,
  • Modules, whether mounted or in Inventory, are sold for credits Credits at the normal Sell price,
  • The relevant Battle Performance Bonus Research Points is added to each researched[6] Tier V to X ship,
  • Tier II to X ships and their modules become locked,
  • A Research Points icon appears in the tech tree and in the Ship Carousel on each ship with a bonus available, indicating that Research Points that can be earned from that ship.

Thanks. I had often wondered about the fine details.

I didn't realize that the excess ship XP goes back to the T1 ship, but does that mean anything? I mean the XP to get to T2 is trivial so what is the use of it except for being able to exchange it for FXP ata  later debate for a gazzilion doubloons? (Which no one sane would ever contemplate.)

As I understand it, resetting the line means you have to grind back, and buy back, all the ship modules and ships, but you keep your camo, upgrades, and captains with no penalties. So you are looking at a spending 50 million+ credits (I believe the sell back price is about half the buy price?) and grinding about 700,000+ xp, plus the cost of the signals and consumable camos you'll probably be using to speed up that grind.

And in return you can buy the unique upgrade (if you didn't get them already before the rule change) or, if you reset 2-3 times, a RB ship.

I am about right here?

Thank you very much for clearing this up.
And from the looks of it, you'd better demount your Legendary Modules before doing this otherwise it's another set of Research Points needed for acquiring it back.

Yep IIRC that's the only use of it, which isn't worth it unless you are a whale.

You are right on the other paragraph, hence why RB is a late game mechanic as one needs to invest a lot of stuffs on it.

Seems like you have mixed up the term "module" & "upgrade"

Module is researchable stuffs of a ship, for example Yugumo's F3 torpedoes and GK's 420mm guns. You can sold a ship's stock modules via inventory tab.

Upgrades is stuffs buy via credits or coals, and mounted on slots. There's no legendary module btw, only legendary upgrades. Upgrades will be demounted for free when you reset the line

I guess I can't determine which is left or which right LOL.
Thanks for the information, this has been quite useful.
I really wanted to get that Ohio for a long time already and I just can't get myself to reset a line due to these not thoroughly clear explanations.
