OK, so we have this Cause Damage mission which gives you 7500 XP...so what? What am I missing here?

You have to play Big Hunt with one of the special ships which do not accumulate XP. So where does the 7500 XP go to?

Or is this just a waste of time?

This is intended to make Big Hunt battles eligible for progress of XP accumulation to earn Daily Containers, an improvement over the previous Key Battle event.

OK, thanks for that. But still...only a slight improvement. I'd would rather play ships I need to grind and get the XP for both the ship and progress for daily containers at the same time.

That's the thing. You can do either "A" or "B", depends on what you want.

Doing the event can "aid" you in your supposed "core" thing - grinding tech tree ships, but you can always ignore the event altogether.

You seem to misunderstand. That one specific Big Hunt task is pointless to me. All the others are fine. I'll be playing Big Hunt for the BP to try get those perma camo's and other goodies but as for using it to grind XP for daily containers...who gives a damn.

https://armory.worldofwarships.asia/en/category/event_3

https://worldofwarships.asia/en/news/general-news/big-hunt-the-raid-begins/

In short: you can earn Battle Points (BPs) through participating in Big Hunt battles, both directly and from associated combat missions. Then you can use BPs to exchange Corporate Tokens (CTs) as well as other rewards through three random bundle series. You can also purchase CTs directly with doubloons, credits or Free XP.

The primary rewards are three event-themed permacamo for Amagi, Akizuki and Oland that cost 5 Corporate Tokens each.

The Halloween event, if you did it, got you the 3 corporation symbol patches. If you grind all the missions for the Hector, Whirlwind & Avenger then you get the same patch symbols again...huh?

Is there any point in doing those missions? Once you do all the BP reward missions then there seems little incentive to complete those string of 9 missions for each of those ships unless you just happen to like those ships and want all the equipment upgrades for them..

For players like me who does not seriously participate in the last event for example. Also to explore what ideas have the developers come up with...

I did say "The Halloween event, if you did it...". Obviously if you did not then you have some incentive to do those missions. What about for those who already have those symbols?

The perhaps it is not for you and the obvious answer is.. do not play it.  Perhaps you need to accept that this time around it is not for you and you can go play the other modes.  They cannot make things that please all people all of the time.

Unless you do not have perma camo's for Amagi, Akizuki and Oland then there is less incentive to play this event. There are lots of lesser freebies which are always useful like flags, camo's, coal and stuff which will help out in lesser ways so you might consider playing it to some extent.

Actually, its nice and relaxing. No stress. Earn some XP without worrying about your team. I was div'ing with @notyourfather last night and the two of us managed to kill the aurora even.

Flip side of that is unless you're an achivment machine (for flags)the random bundles are still giving you more boosters than you would be getting otherwise in exchange for that tech tree xp, and even if you don't need the fxp/credits you can exchange them for the coal bundles ( i mean, it's essenitally a 8% of a t10 ship if you grab all 4).

If you don't wanna do it don't, noones forcing you. But there plenty there for most players to at least grind out the 2k and 6k event currency random drops in the armory.

Yep, agree. I'm playing this event to get one perma camo since I have perma's for 2 of the ships already. The special flags, FXP, coal etc you can get from the various bundles are good so I'm playing for some of them. But by playing this mode you miss out on acquiring credits, grinding XP for your tech tree ships and XP for your commanders. There is a trade off.

Having said that, the SciFi game mode is a refreshing change from the standard WW1 to WW2 era style of the game.

You still gain a lot of elite commander xp since the captains of the ships are all 21-point, so all commander xp becomes elite

Not on this mode. This mode doesn't even have base exp as the post-battle reward.

I'm very annoyed by the growing requirements for the ship's modules. And not all modules are strictly better than the ones that require less.

This mode is so much fun! Run and gun. Even better when you get your friends to div. Fast paced action.
