Yamato as of right now still has its place in the game. It overmatches 32mm of armour which is a common plating for most BBs.
Yes, it may be harder given the amount of HE spammers like Thunderers but a Yamato could still hold its place.

DISCLAIMER, This, by no means is an attempt to stat-shame you. I am pointing some stuffs out about your Yamato in which you need to consider when playing.
image.png.7aae109afdb7ec646bd788f4924a9580.png
Take this for example, it is your stats in the Yamato. Now lets look at it in detailed.
1) Your WR is surprisingly low which could mean one thing, your influence in battle. Given your 51% SR, it is most likely safe to assume you are back lining quite hard where your influence in battle is negligible,
2) ^^^How so you may ask? Look at your AVG damage, 47.8k per game for a Yamato which lets be honest, is indeed very low.
3) Your main battery ACC, 14% which is very low for a ship like a Yamato. Which could be a result of your back lining quite hard and your aim is not that good.

Please take note what I have pointed out. Consider checking WoWsNumbers and compare yourself to the server average.
To improve, try not blame the ship and others for it, you can only do so up to a certain extent. Under most circumstances, it all falls down on you, the player.

This are my stats below for comparison, do note my AVG in the Yamato is pretty much identical to your record.

If BBs are not working out for you, try head down into the lower tiers and practise.
Good Luck.

There are a number of options:

1. Keep doing what you are doing and don't improve.

2. Learn the ship and improve.

3. Quit this overrated piece of warship and find another BB with more sensible gun size, like 406 or 410.

4. Quit the game.

seriously how do you learn ?????????

If i camp i bounce or overpen everything i hit if i move in i get burnt to death, there is absolutely no middle ground.

If i didnt know better id think I'm the only player in the game thats not using some sort of aim hack

Every helpful comment in your last thread about the exact same topic means nothing to you, it seems.

Its highly likely its your positioning

You and Hochun travel almost exactly the same distance each game, its where you are travelling to which is likely to be the issue.

Which impacts on your aiming, your accuracy is terrible. For perspective, its only 4% higher than my most accurate torp boat.

I get 26% accuracy in the Musashi, and I will snap shot pretty much every DD that gets spotted, followed by CA/CL. Either you need to learn to aim better, or get a lot closer, and likely both. Hanging back so far means that the HE spammers have a lot less to fear from you, at 15 to 16km they are risking a huge chunk of their health by engaging you. At max range its unlikely you are going to provide much of a deterrence, especially if they figure out you are a bad shot.

I learn by looking critically at each game and figuring out what I could have done to have had more influence on getting a win. All the RNG crap applies equally to everyone, only spend time worrying about things you can change.

What’s your captain build? Do you have many fire prevention skills?

Funny about the pens though. Yama’s problem is usually overpenning.

Some tips from a player suffered a lot from Yamato:

1)Make sure your captain has Fire Prevention Exepert(Just less important than Concealment Expert) and Basic Survivability skill. Also, use signals to decrease fire time. The longer you survive, the more damage you can make.

2)Don't push too much until you have to. It's okay to drive at 1/4 speed and stay behind your teammates at first. Keep 20km away from enemy battleships and make sure you can go stealth at any time.

3)Don't use Damage Control Party(R) when there's one fire on you. Action time of DCP on IJN battleship is relatively short, and experienced players will concentrate fire on any battleship who use DCP to put out just one fire right after burning.

As for the penetration, Yamato has most powerful guns in this game. Due to "14.3 mechanism", it can cause huge damage to any ship with armor thinner than 32mm. I play Thunderer and Jean Bart a lot and it's easy for Musashi/Yamato to hit me and cause over 10k damage in a salvo. Just improve your aiming and use your powerful AP shells.

you sure you're not overextending or sitting still? playing wows is finding a balance between sitting still and moving at the right spot.
