With the release of Update 0.10.2, X Somers will cease to be available in the Armory.

When Update 0.10.5 goes live, VI Erich Loewenhardt, VII Nelson, VI T-61, VII Haida, VII Z-39, VIII Asashio, VIII Lenin, and VI Admiral Graf Spee will also cease to be available.

The ships are being removed from the game due to a combination of their popularity and combat efficiency.

In order to maintain the proper level of diversity in teams in terms of ship composition, these ships will cease to be available for an indefinite period of time, but may return in future.

LOL, what kind of excuse that is ... Ok might be Asashio can be termed popular but the others .. well .. Its not like they can replace with equal variety in quantity .. its simply a case of their unwillingness to better give now power crept ship buff and OP ships nerf , and that goes for  both tech line ships and premium ships / call me conspiracy theory addicted , but my take is they need to remove the ships to made way so to lure people to buy their next premium ( and likely less capable ) ships

I'm inclined to believe Graf Spee will be added to Armory as a coal ships.

Sorry for being a killjoy. But if Hyuga replaces Nelson, wouldn't WG put a new price tag in accordance to the inflation?

Missouri used to cost 750k FXP.
Alaska used to cost 1m FXP.
Using the same inflation rate, Hyuga would cost at least 500k FXP. That's a lot for a ship that goes for quantity over quality (in terms of number of guns).

With reference to your speculation, I would expect Yukon to be released at a price tag of 500,000 FXP to replace the Nelson.

I mean although Missouri was briefly replaced by Musashi, Musashi (and later Kronshtadt) got replaced by Azuma (followed by Alaska).

I'd agree with the price inflation on whatever will replace Nelson though.

Weimar is nothing close compared to Nelson, such replacement would not be sensible.

While good ships, I would not have thought any of them especially powerful.

I think the problem is that since so many newer ships are ‘mediocre’, ships which are otherwise ‘very good’ are purchased and used.

So instead of just making more good ships to spread popularity, WG removes the ‘good’ ships.

I’d be ok with this is WG had planned cycles. One year off, one year on. Or brought them back for sale one month per year (December?).

But just removing them... I’ve said before, I do not like ships getting removed.

I can understand it with very OP ships, but just because a ship is “popular” and “used a lot” does not seem a good reason.

Want more variety? Release more equivalent ships.

I can recommend T-61 for the fun factor, and Asashio for brutal effectiveness - but Z-39?

I've not heard a good word for that ship from anyone, and I hardly ever see on in game.

Z39 is actually broken DD in the wrong hand.... those fast reload torp and T8 Hydro include T8 upgrade.... combined with 150mm German HE....

its wasnt broken UNTIL WE GOT commander rework with DD 150mm can now extend its range. and hehehe other new skill as well

 

of course it play differently, the biggest drawback is... WHY CANNT IT HAVE 2x2 gun? instead we got weird 2x1 + 1x2 gun.... i love DD double barrel for aestetic reason.

that is why i got Kleber, Udaloi and Ostergotland along with Orkan and Gadjah Mada..
