The thing is, the ship could not even move at all once stuck. I suppose some rocks underwater beached my aft there.

I do notice that some island geometry is completely f-ed up.

 

FFS WG, you are adding subs into the game. Imagine playing a sub and get stuck the whole game because the terrain geometry/hitboxes are ****.

It was already bad when you get stuck with the islands.

Now it's worse, since they did something when they added the underwater feature.
Someone effed things up when they added the feature.

If you get stuck, tap "M" and pick any point for the ship to automatically navigate to. It will get unstuck and navigate there.

Nope. That doesn't work. You can't even move forward or backward. And to think you're not even that near the island to get stuck in the first place.

I hate islands in this game more than:

  • Musashi being less than T10
  • Annoying Minotaur/Small-length
  • SAP on BBs
  • Stupid +2/-2 MM
  • OP HE on RN BBs
  • The disrespectful CV rework
  • Etc.

THEY BLOCK MY SHELLS

THEY BLOCK MY TORPEDOES

THEY STOP MY SHIPS

THEY HIDE AND PROTECT MY ENEMIES

 

REMOVE ALL MAPS THAT ARE NOT OCEAN

OCEAN IS THE ONLY MAP THIS GAME EVER NEEDED

I vote that the Yamato be equipped with the wave motion gun--just use her and fire it and vaporize all islands in the area. Problem solved.

Just add floating moving iceberg ; even novice sailors know to trek careful around shoreline and not to put a deep drafting ship close but that is what players do , talk about factual in game .. people ask for it .. now they get it .. so why not .. it's just another topographic feature that's there, that's natural and neutral to each and everyone 

If it block your gun, your Torp, it's also blocking the enemy's .. if enemy hide behind it and be unseen it's the same , he/she cannot see you either.

this game already faulted with too many WG's own take on physics , this one at least is not voodoo , so what if ships got stuck it just tell them they should not hug the island right to the edge

I neither camp nor am a coward so islands are always a hindrance. Stuff your comment in a recycling bin, it'd be more useful there.

Correct.

Also, that comment about "if it blocks your shots, it blocks the enemy's is incorrect". Some unnamed nation ships have high arcs that allow them to aim and lob shells on a high arc over the islands without compromising their concealment. If stealth firing is banned, then stealth firing behind islands should also be removed.

Well then first and foremost we either need to buff all ships guns and torp to strike as far as BB or nerf the BB's range so they cannot out range the cruisers and DD , Cruisers and DD use topographical obstacles to defend against heavy firepower , which is part of the game since day 1. Stealth fire is no different than BB out ranging all others - they made up an offense of which the receiving end had no way to return fire .. BB had range , Cruiser had reload and accuracy , DD had stealth .. islands only add some to all

Big Guns players seems to forget they had the HP, the Armor and the firepower advantage , islands is a neutral feature , it can hide Cruiser, it can hide DD, and it can hide BB in fact its mostly the BB enjoying the advantage cause they are big and islands provide decent amount of blocking against enemy shoots

Ocean Map is already in game , and many maps had plenty of open area , not seeing why not exploiting the topographic there , and my comment is just as good, as valid as everyone else, no one need to agree to it but equally no one had right to ask the opinion not to be expressed, discussed .. BTW OP talk is about the stuck on the shoreline , not about the islands as a block against enemy shells .. and to that I think its actually a nice idea, made it more realistic , similarly I say weather should be given more influence in game , sunny day will increase every ships visibility, cloudy and storm reduce even more, same for torp detection. Storm should made planes aiming much larger but at the same time fair weather should increase planes accuracy

The addition of meteorologic and topographical factor influencing the game is actually nice to had , of course if WG would ditch some of their ridiculous physics, it would be even better
