A new Yuro vid, how to Atago. In the grand tradition of his old Clemson and Sharnhorst vids, there's an instruction manual for Atago wrapped up in the memes.

(short version:) "Run RPF with double rudder."

[My build swaps AR for PT and EM, but I otherwise followed his advice]

RPF may seem counterintuitive on a cruiser, but on Atago it works.

I find the knowledge gained by RPF is more worthwhile as a cruiser than as a DD to be honest. In your role as a flank protector, which is Atago's bread-and-butter most games, it gives you so much power.

Well it did help to ping on the map. I mean you pinged on where the Harekaze was before I sent my planes to scout the area.

We were on the same team on map Neighbors, I was the Ranger btw.

I wouldn't say RPF being counterintuitive on cruisers.

Cruisers generally position themselves on the 2nd line, right behind the DDs. And because DDs are most likely on the 1st line, the RPF will always ping on the enemy DDs. Especially on this server where BBs just camp at the back.

Also, Atago's turret traverse is rather slow. So having all the guns aimed on the right direction beforehand can save the game in the long run.

I run RL on most CL/As... Points allowing.

My build would probs be EM instead of equip and I think I run equip 2 instead of Pyro...

I am found out! :crab:

But yeah, that game is a good example. Even if I can't deal with it myself there is usually at least one ship on my team that can act on the intel I have. Once spotted, I'm already in a position to shoot.
