It has its moments and it also has its ho hum games too. Here's one where I never even saw the other guy. Map was Two Brothers and I went straight through the middle gap and waited and waited for the other guy to show up. He was in an Amagi and seemed to have wandered off around to one side trying to avoid the middle gap. Oh well, a win is a win I guess. Some ship in this tier are severely penalized for how they are while others are gifted with the 1 Vs 1 situation , no thanks I would wait for the 3 Vs 3 which sounds more fun and more of a fight instead. BBs can just YOLO into the cap & tank whatever the CV throws at him. This is the most notable difference of what CV rework has brought into the game. Cruisers, at least the majority of them have enough tools to defend themselves against CV strikes. Their agility helps them to utilize the terrain to their advantage. DDs enjoy the privilege to secure cap zone faster & easier than the other 2 classes. Sure CV can drop fighter on the DD to give them the spotting assist. But the DD can just smoke up, and the CV would be completely blind. And even when the DD forget to turn off his AA, the AA won't fire at all because the planes are also invisible to the DD. I only have done this mode 5 times. I only played Eugen & Lightning so far. And in all 5 battles; I encountered Massachusetts 4 times, and Mainz once. It's the spotting in randoms that make CV so powerful. The spotting also puts a leash on a lot of aggressive play. A T10 CV against a T8 Cruiser or dd isn't fun either in terms of raw plane dmg. (IE DD's V BB on epeicenter maps) and unless you are willing to chase a CV down or hunker next to an island and just get pummelled as the timer counts down) but it still good fun. Hope you're good at hitting DDs with rockets then. If not, be prepared for forced torpedo insertion without any lubrication. Of the 4 times I got matched up with a CV I was in my DD and only one of them was able to consistently hit me with rockets and then it was on the Two Brothers map where navigation is rather restricted.
