BB SAP is a TAD OP :)

Been getting hammered with the new SAP at least I believe that's what it is, I assume as per normal all testing regarding this was carried out carefully, right now on the open server of your choice, as per standard WOWS crap 🙂

Anyway perhaps there's a thread for this or peeps are still enjoying it, but perhaps at some stage between counting money and giggling someone at WOWS could have a look? It seems a bit odd that I can be hit for 10k, salvo after salvo by them just shooting super structure on my BB regardless of angle, hard to angle the super structure 🙂 Anyway just a thought.

BB SAP really isn't all it's cracked up to be. Useless against DD's, good on some poor unsuspecting CL, average against CA's, but against big fat BB superstructure (especially higher Tier BB's) it's good for one or two Salvo's then stops being anywhere near effective. Nowhere near as bad as HE, as at a point the Superstructure becomes damage saturated, then SAP gives little return, where as fires just keep on burning.

I will caveat this with I'm only up to Tier 6 with RM BB's, but the best returns are against Tier 8 BB's, until either damage saturation happens or they smack me hard (normally over matched with Super HEAVY AP or just turn me into a BBQ). The dispersion so far for RM BB's hasn't been great so suggest either they've tapped you at short range, or they have sacrificed their first born to RNGesus for a few long range shots. Will have to see how they pan out at T7 and above as I get to them - but so far SAP is proving quite situational.

10k damage per salvo has been doable with the British BBs. Just pretend you don't have AP shells.

Orion's HE is far more superior than Dante's SAP. Especially because HE shells can destroy modules easily.

According to the wiki, Colombo's gun range is only 18.9km. The shortest of all tier 10 BBs. Conqueror & Thunderer outrange it by a huge margin, at 24.3km. So I suppose Britannia rules the waves in this game.

This has been much more of an issue for RN BBs for ages, not to mention their fires...

So far for T4-6 I've found AP far more reliable, yes this is likely to change for higher tiers with bigger supers but SAP is still an inferior shell to HE.

This also ignores their horrible dispersion which means if you are getting hit by that many shells it's either RNG, Deadeye or closer range...

Been playing some tier 5/6 US DDs and facing a lot of SAP BBs.

The dispersion of the Italian guns is horrific. Even at relatively close ranges (6 to 7km) a little bit of jiggling in smoke will result in taking hardly any damage.
