Buff all IJN torpedo detection instead , it's grossly out of balance , and pretty much all DD Torp should get range buff , even some. Cruisers'

Zao is still posts good numbers, it's just not as fun as it once was.

Frankly all cruisers that are not bow-tankers or "super" are in a tight spot right now.

Having played a lot of Hindy recently, I'd rather take out a Hindy than a Zao despite similar gun ranges because i) Hindy is less prone to catastrophic damage ii) HP iii) better RoF despite punier alpha. 

The reason why Zao is "too strong" is because of they think that the torpedoes make it OP. Hello, torpedoes are basically hit and miss weapons. Plus the torp angles on the Zao make it very dangerous to use. If we had <10km combat as a default, yes, it'd be good but the meta now is long ranged artillery duels. How often do 12km torpedoes end up being actually useful and hitting something apart from an ignorant potato thunderer hitting full stop at 10km?

IMO Zao needs HP and armour.

She just used to be a gun-focused CA with trollish armour. Now her armour is pointless and her HP is abysmal.

I'd give her 6k HP or 32mm mid section armour and extend her belt a bit, basically give her a bit of an Amagi treatment.

IDK, there's many ways she could be improved but I doubt they will.

Zao has great guns and subsequently will still keep fairly reliable numbers in certain skill brackets.

I would actually improve the reload for the guns. Make it a high risk, high rewards ship.

even wasd hax just one salvo 20K+ health gone and what is concealment these days anyway with cv around

hinden easily much better  in the current meta
