There are challenges, but to succeed through adversity is to achieve contentment.

I am a DD main, and the vast majority of the DD's I regularly play are T8-10.  I am quite successful in them, and don't find it stressful to play DD's at these tiers at all.  Of course, I'm quite experienced and relatively capable, but it proves the point that there is not only plenty you can do to be successful, but that you can be consistently successful almost every game if you apply yourself to improve.

Awareness and knowledge are key.  These come with experience to some degree, but require you to actively work out and take responsibility for your errors, and how you could have improved your play, every battle, and then to apply these lessons to improve your play.  You cannot shift blame to others, if there is even the slightest bit of fault attributable to yourself, or you will not improve.  You have to own it.

If you get caught in an unexpected radar, it is your fault.  Work out why you were surprised, and how you could have avoided being caught out, and don't do it again.  If you get caught out by a CV and chunked by them or the enemy team, it is your fault.  Work out where you should have been, how much earlier you could have made yourself aware of the threat, and how you could have maneuvered better to mitigate damage.  If you fail to have an impact because you were too passive, it is your fault.  Work out where you could have been to have a greater impact, while balancing risk vs effective plays.  You want to put yourself in a position that minimises risk to you while maximising your impact, and you most definitely do not want to put yourself in a low percentage high risk play unless the game is on the line and you are desperate.

Once again, awareness is key.  You have to know where those enemy radar ships and DD's are, or are likely to be based on the information given to you.  You need to know at all times what squadron the CV has out and where it is, and use that to inform your position.  You need to know the radar and hydro ranges and duration of each ship on the enemy team, as well as the concealment ranges of every DD on the enemy team.

You most definitely can be successful in high tier DD's.  In fact, there are no ships more powerful in the game, in terms of having the ability to win the game for your team, than DD's.  With a positive attitude and the ability to own and learn from your mistakes, you can be consistently successful as well.

I guess I'm in the same boat (hah hah) as @Moggytwo. I'm a DD main, T8-9 mostly. Currently focused on Blyskawica, Z-23, Yugumo, and LeFantasque, but I have a bunch of T9 and T10 DDs also.

It's no coincidence that we both have 10k+ battles to our respective names, however. High tier DD is the last frontier of WoWS, the place of greatest risk-reward players gravitate to when there are few other challenges left.

There are plenty of things one can do.

Try posting a replay if you need any help.

the motto though and the issue on hand : is not how frustrating , how tough to play DD but the fact that DD players are singled out .. CV BB Cruisers all can be play with relative ease and given their tools to do their. Offensive and Defensive within reasonable amount. NOT the DDs , and that is when game balance and fair play need to address it I said it before all other class are presented with consistent effective and efficient means to go on theirs within reasonable amount of effort required and that is not the case for DD.

So until the class is equally and fairly be spec out and allow to play at same level of such no amount of sweet talk can excuse. Yes one can play DD to good effect , does not made the faulted mechanics right though.

You'll get used to it after many trials and errors. :cat_bubble:

For me, if I want to earn credits, the Asashio is the go-boat. There are times that I become a target for CV, Radar ship, and other DDs - most often higher tiers than me. But there are also many times I get to target fat, juicy, and delicious battleships. The higher the tier the better!  :Smile_izmena:
