I'll be honest. I only did the tasks that give the Epoch containers, and repeated them to get the remaining stars needed to unlock the final tasks. And thanks to the premium time, I could do up to 3 tasks at a time. The premium benefits also helped on finishing the tasks that require exp & credit accumulation.

The whole campaign gives the exact amount of containers needed to complete the collection. And because each of the collection item only require 1 duplicate to unlock, you can just unlock the other items immediately. This leaves no duplicate items at all when you complete the collection.

For demonstration only. F2P players can get up to 2 Epoch camo, which is nice.

No I'm not going to put it on Jean Bart. Only whales do that.

I have few candidates that should get this camo:

  1. Drake
  2. Iowa
  3. Lion
  4. Tashkent (maybe? I like speedy DDs)
  5. The Italian whose name I don't like (I'm gonna look for the modding guide on how to rename ships)

Lepanto?

1. Install Lady commander name or Gun size in inches from Aslain modpack.

2. Go search for this file in your res_mods folder: "global.mo"

3. Google "covert mo to po" and convert that "global.mo" to .po file online. Make sure to name the result: "global.po"

4. Install programs such as Poedit to edit the global.po file.

5. Open global.po with Poedit and search for whatever you want to edit and edit it.

6. Save and place the new global.mo (Poedit will also create a new global.mo when you save the global.po) file back in the same directory where you searched for the original global.mo file.

Yes that one.

Is it possible to skip the installing part & unpack a copy of the global.mo file from the game's directory instead?

I'm using the WoWS Unpacker to find camo texture files and I cannot find the global.mo file being listed. It should be in the "texts" folder but that folder isn't being listed.

If you can find the "texts" folder with the unpacker, yeah skip it.

Here is a peek of what you can do with the global.mo:

Well that's not my reason.

The naming convention is rather odd to begin with. All of them were named after the historical figures until T8. Sure Lepanto follows what's passed down from Veneto, but there are better names can be used instead of that.

These are the names I can use to replace it:

  • Sardegna - The name was used by one of Re Umberto class ironclad battleships in WW1
  • Vittorio Emanuele II - The first king of Italy/was used by one of the Regina Elena class BB in WW1. The Germans get Der Alte Fritz, so why can't the Italians get the same? Their navy is literally called The Royal Navy.
  • Giuseppe Garibaldi - His name was used by one of the Duca degli Abruzzi class CL, and later a CV after WW2. Maybe save it for CV, if pasta CV line becomes a thing.
  • Eugenio di Savoia - Just for luls. But because the House of Savoy ended up being Italians, why not? His name was used by one by one of the Duca d'Aosta class CL.

I don't give a [bleep] about the Turks. I only find them remotely interesting when they won at Gallipoli (Churchill had an OOF moment there).

Nothing like having your name/title being used as namesake by four separate navies.

Lepanto -> Impero

Colombo -> Re d'Italia

Context: Prince Eugene of Savoy /German: Prinz Eugen von Savoyen /Italian: Principe Eugenio di Savoia had 6 ships named after him by 4 different navies:

Kaiserlich und Königlich Kreigsmarine (Austro-Hungarian navy): SMS Prinz Eugen (1862) (Ironclad), SMS Prinz Eugen (1877) (Casemate ship) and SMS Prinz Eugen (1912) (same class as Viribus Unitus)

Royal Navy: HMS Prince Eugene (Monitor)

Kreigsmarine: KMS Prinz Eugen (You know, the Hipper in-game that has a heal?)

Regia Marina: Eugenio di Savoia (Same class as Duca d'Aosta)

Congrats. I'm still just finishing up the third set, and the fourth and fifth look pretty immense.

Third went pretty fast because I didn't have to play low tiers and there was a 3 star challenge which was "be in the top 5 of your team 14 times" which is like "well, duh!" so ...

Ok - brass tacks now, when I get these what to use them on?

Seattle, Buffalo, Jutland, Z-46, Izumo, Iowa, FdG, Roon are the T9 I have or will get soon (Z-46) that I don't have permacamo for.

Realistically, Z-46, Izumo, Iowa or perhaps Roon...

Yup the third part was pretty fast to complete thanks to that one task.

Well I think you should use them on ships you actually enjoy.

  • Seattle is kind of no-no imo. She feels like a downgrade after Cleveland.
  • Buffalo might be ok. Did you miss the Space Battle event in 2018? The directives from that event gave bionic camo for Buffalo.
  • Jutland was a solid DD. But she has been nerfed a lot since then.
  • Z-46 seems a solid DD imo. She had solid performance on the last 3v3 Sprint.
  • Izumo might be ok. She is actually more resistant against HE spammers.
  • Iowa is actually good.
  • FdG is quite meh. But it is probably a "me" problem than the ship's problem.
  • Roon is odd. Good at kiting but bad at pushing.
