Technical Changes and Improvements

With the release of Update 0.9.9, players will be able to play on all World of Warships servers within a single game client, without the need to install separate game instances for each region. The game server will be determined by the currently selected account in the Wargaming Game Center.

We recommend that you delete all additional game instances installed on your computer before the release of Update 0.9.9. Please note: you will still need a separate game client for Public Tests.

We've seen drops in game client performance and aiming reticle distortions on devices with graphics cards that don't support DirectX 11 features. For this reason, we are discontinuing support for graphics cards that don't meet the minimum system requirements.

  • NVIDIA: all graphics cards older than the GeForce 400 series.
  • AMD: all graphics cards older than the Radeon HD 5000 Series.
  • Intel: all graphics cards older than Intel HD 3000.

MAC OS

Support for the macOS operating system will cease with the release of Update 0.10.0. We made this decision due to the low popularity of this OS among our players. Supporting macOS restrains our ability to improve the visuals of the game and its overall performance.

For more details click on the link below and look for MAC OS topic in red text. WG further explains why they are dropping support for MAC OS.

Armory

The following ships will become available in the Armory with the release of the Update:

  • flag_USA_dd9fc06d19a8638f4077ab2fe200d22special_f75e4cad6399ce68536c0ed26af761c9X Franklin D. Roosevelt—available in exchange for 33,000 Steel. A Midway-class aircraft carrier that can boast of having solid armor protection. The extensive HP pools of her aircraft and large squadron size allow her to carry out continuous powerful attacks, even when her aircraft, which lack the Repair consumable, fall under heavy AA enemy fire.
  • flag_Italy_206c77d5bf356559100ac3e95fdb7premium_9ffc494df739f989c98f2dd3a4e40887IX Paolo Emilio—available in exchange for 43,000 Research Points. This destroyer was initially designed as light cruiser intended for use in reconnaissance operations of the Italian Navy. She's fast, and equipped with good artillery that's capable of firing SAP and HE shells, all at the cost of a long reload time. The ship's powerful torpedo armament, coupled with access to the Emergency Engine Power and Exhaust Smoke Generator consumables, make her ideal for lightning-fast attacks at short ranges.

Other changes

We're continuing our work on enhancing the Daily Shipments: two new options will be added in Update 0.9.9. We'll test the new mechanics as the Update goes live. To ensure that we get credible test results, some players will collect their rewards via the "old" version of Daily Shipments, while others will receive the new ones. This research will also require a random reference group, which is why certain players will unfortunately not have access to Daily Shipments during this Update.

flag_Germany_18970d883c7758b53538983bd09premium_1114542bcd311c388080eea3a4d54a7eVIII Mainz has been added to the Tech Tree, and will be available for 11,000 doubloons.

flag_Germany_18970d883c7758b53538983bd09premium_1d0cabf1997104fd727039ab9c098192VIII Tirpitz has temporarily been removed from the Tech Tree. However, she will still be available via the Armory.

Also, fixed a mistake in the description of Task 6 of Mission 4 in the "Five Epochs of the Navy" Campaign.

I've been looking forward to both FDR and Yolo Emilio for a long time - very excited to see they are both finally being released!

I'll be getting them both on patch day.  Yolo Emilio in particular looks absolutely hilarious fun!

It's great fun but it's also really easy to over commit. Even though the reload is terrible, the SAP rounds do disgusting things to DDs. I think you'll like it.

Hi. I'm just a novice necromancer who brings you a confirmation. I post in this thread because I can't see no other thread to post this in and I don't feel like starting a new thread.

It is just a confirmation for something that has been the most popular speculation.

Also there is actually 3D model/textures for the ship in the game files in this Update, but that doesn't say anything about what the ship would carry.

Expect the same main gun dispersion as Ludenderp.

So the speculation was true. She's basically Bismarck with Odin's guns.

Oh and about 12-guns BB at T8, WG has made Kansas anyway. And Kansas has 406mm, the only thing that holds her down is the sigma (speed is a whole different balancing factor).

And if Hizen stays at T9 until her release, I expect more to come.

Imagine Conqueror with 12 381 or 406mm at T9:Smile_trollface:

Funny thing is, I've mentioned this kind of thing in my thread about the Odin when she was still in test:

Some more tidbits I think you MAY need to know:

+ The barbettes on Scharnhorst and Gneisenau are suitable for triple 283 mm turrets AND twin 380 mm turrets. The twin 380 mm is what they were designed for, but the triple 283 mm was what they were armed with. Both of those turrets fit in the ships rather snugly.

(This may be 1000% irrelevant but who knows) + Bismarck and Tirpitz use the same barbette dimensions as Scharnhorst and Gneisenau ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I dropped a hint and apparently WG did pick it up.

What if Branden has 283 just for the heck of it.

I don't think it's an awful idea. Not as awful as that massive whale bait on last Christmas.

But I got that idea mainly because the British are lacking high tier premium ships, especially at T9. Swiftsure might make more sense though.

This game has too many 18" IMO, and as a CR main, I openly despite that.

Just make a brawling RN BB with 15/16" instead. Let her have the same sec range as the Baguette BBs.

KGV original specification with 12 - 357 mm at T7.

I am not sure if there was any plans for 12 - 381 mm in the RN navy. Though there is currently no 12 - 406 mm in the RN navy, but it is possible that 406 mm can be filled by Conqueror as optional armament. Just like Lion.

Are you open on arming heavy cruisers with a maximum of 254 / 255 mm (10 inch) guns?  USN havy cruiser specifically.

357 / 350 (KM) / 360 (IJN) mm for super cruisers?

Bias has 220 mm, RN has 235 mm and MN has 240 mm.

And the "questionable" tier of 380 mm Siegfried.

I really find the 457mm to be a weird trend. I mean even the French were more creative to come up with a unique caliber.

Pre-nerf Lion could work as the base hull because the current issue with Lion is the glass-protected citadel. Heck even Tallinn's AP can penetrate it.

Spoiler

In fact the short fuse gimmick could work better for the brawling type than anything that have it.

Instead of KGV hull, 3x4 356 on a Lion hull would be a solid T9 with Super Heal, German/French secondary range and 1 more pair of secondary turrets. No HE for main guns, RN short-fused AP only.

Or adding no more secondary turret, but base secondary range is like 9km or something, with better sigma than most secondary BBs.

Short-fused AP or SAP?

Short-fused AP.

I mean the reason why most RN BB players just spam HE is because their AP is pretty much useless other than for the few exceptions: broadsiding IJN CAs (sometimes BB AP only does overpen) & BBs superstructure.

Some say Thunderer actually has standard AP, but the problem is that her HE is still too good to not be utilized.
