Actually I would say its newbie rather than noob as you are really new and willing to learn. Eventually you will learn everything and becoming a good player with remarkable stats + positive attitude, good luck!

Ah man, I remember Yorck... She's much better now than when I grinded her (she used to have silly shell ballistics)...

Keep moving, stay at range and work on your aim, she can be surprisingly good if played well.

1 suggestion that I see many KM CA captains getting wrong; do not stick to just HE or just AP, more than any other CA line, KM needs to switch all the time.

Angled anything, go nuts with HE, but if you can see a broadside at just about any range, don't be afraid to go with AP. HE is more there for when AP isn't the best than being the default.

HE has good pen but low damage, decent fire starting whereas AP has great damage and at times too much or too little pen.

If you can find a set of rules that works for you, Yorck is good.

Just don't become like me and neglect to learn anything about the game mechanics.

I didn't,which resulted in absolutely terrible PR from older days that still sticks to me, even though my performance has improved. 

Keep on going bud, you're on your way to one of the better tier 10s in the game.

I think this is why I like USN and German ships.

Because when you CAN use AP, it's great.

I know I want to use AP and though I am perfectly happy to use HE (especially on German ships) I am always eager to find the right moment for AP.

Makes me feel like hunting, killing... gives me an edge.

And yeah, as many said, try to switch between AP and HE everytime whenever possible. You may search for tips in this forum, and i think i shared some about Hipper and KM CA in general.

Even so, everyone gets into ruts...

I was on track to go up to 58-60% WR, then spent a chunk of time grinding Repub and Henri legendaries, haven't found my mojo again since...

I'll find it, but maybe the headspace I'm in now is only 54% WR at best?

Yeah, I've given her 2 games, lost both of course because the first one was a tier 9 game and the second was tier 8 that something happened on the other flank.

 

I've already been smacked across the head by s Jean Bart for showing too much leg. But I have to say I'm enjoying the guns. I've actually been able to hit DDs that are manouvering.

I have to get better at switching ammo in a lot of things, and those that I don't have to I have to be better at just being stealthy.

My German cruiser tech tree stops at tier 8. 

And the Prinz Eugen is on my list of premiums that I must have. Because one Hipper class CA is never enough.

Well I did buy my Texas before I reached tier 5, and I plan to get the Prinz Eugen when I have a bit more experience facing tier IX ships.

I used to play WoT Blitz before this, and never felt the need to free XP past anything. Free XP is there to try to skip stock grinds. But I'm not sure that the Yorck one will be too bad, certainly not bad enough to spend all my Free XP on.

Well Blucher, Hipper and Eugen are the only Hipper class CA's.

Seydlitz -> Weser is no longer a CA but a CV (or maybe more accurately CVE)

and Lutzow -> Petropavlosk -> Talinn -> Dniepr is at best only half a Hipper.

and Mainz is more a cousin as I understand it.

Welp, I thought you meant all the different variations of the Hipper hull, not the Cruisers as designed.
