For those newbies out there, a pretty clinical examination of angling, including a couple of moments when I couldn't angle anyone and was hit for damage because of it. I want her so bad, yet her gun characteristic keeps me away from acquiring her. One question, it is about Roma survivability performance. What if the Amagi that you encountered on the battle decide to keep distance from you at long range and pummel you with HE instead of AP, can you manage to survive as long as on your video? 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

If that Amagi had switched to HE, I would have had to go silent earlier and sat back further... I did try to at one stage but the DDs had come within 11.7. Normally I would sit around 14km from nearest enemy DD, which is enough for 11.7+ 2 (if I'm on fire). Most of this game was possible due to a Fiji that couldn't compensate for my change in throttle and that Amagi being a total potato. As it was, my team was more of a potato and despite my efforts at bottom managed to throw anyways. I wouldn't recommend picking up Roma, but if you manage to get her in a santa crate, she can be fun to play. You are 100% right, her guns are too trollish to make her 'good'. They're 381s, so don't overmatch everything, but all the Cruisers they do overmatch, you are more likely to overpen then get nice chunky damage. Even on broadside BBs, the dispersion will troll you and you can't reliably punish them. If they either fixed her dispersion OR fixed her fuse arming, she'd be a great premium. She only needs one or the other fixed, personally I'd go with dispersion if given a choice but it's unlikely they'll fix her at any stage. (and yes, 100% agree about only getting it in a crate. Just as president J. F. Kennedy said : " We choose to go to the Moon...We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard" Any suggestion on upgrade slots 3 and 4? Upgrades: MB1, Damcon 1, Aiming System, Damcon 1, Concealment Mod. Roma is really good except for trollish dispersion and guns that will overpen all day. Necromancy is fine if it's done with purpose... lol. I'm glad you like her!! Great armour if you know what you are doing but very very frustrating guns. Toss a coin as to where your dispersion pattern is going to go. Almost zero consistency. Despite this i do enjoy playing her and even bought the Kobiyashi "Beer can hat" camo for her. Really annoying that WG uses "historical accuracy" as the reason why her gun accuracy sucks, but happily releases hypothetical ships with amazing stats. Even if Roma would actually hit more shells per salvo she would still suffer from the overpen issue. So not real sure why a small sigma buff or improvement to the dispersion pattern has never eventuated. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
