Which line to regrind?

Welp, I am thinking about this to myself for a long time and I still can't think of a good answer to it. 

Some background story here, feel free to skip this section. I do not like the research bureau at all since its implementation, as I can't understand the point of selling every ship in the line and start from 0 just to get some currency, I would rather keep my well deserved T10 and play her occasionally. But since quarantine started I am a bit bored so I start regrinding my Royal Navy light cruiser line, the nostalgia of mid tier kicks back and I thoroughly enjoy my time grinding Leander & Fiji, although after it the hard part arrives as grinding Edinburgh & Neptune requires big brain due to the harsh environment in high tier and their fragile hull makes every spotted moment dangerous (now I am procrastinating my Neptune grind). Now I would like to find some tech lines solely for the sake of regrinding, which I will not play the T10 of the line much and start regrinding whenever I reach the end. 

Therefore, I think of some tech line characteristics that I am looking for since I do not have a lot of free xp to skip most of the grinding sessions and I am not a masochist hard grinder. 

1. The line will have a smooth progression along the way of regrind without any major hiccups, for example in my opinion the US BB line is not a good pick, as T7 and below are very slow and struggles to contribute to the team (therefore the grinding experience might be excruciating) , and the Iowa is being shadowed by many good T9 peers currently such as Izumo, Soyuz and Georgia etc. German BB line might not be a great choice either as all of them suffers in the current meta 

2. The T10 ship is a lackluster upgrade, as I would prefer to keep a good T10 ship for myself rather than start over again. For example, I would not regrind the Italian CA line once I get the Venezia, as she is way better than the previous ships in the line. Yamato is another similar example (hail 46cm guns!). 

Currently I have think of 2 tech lines which fit the above example: the French cruiser line and the Harugumo line. Both line's progression are quite smooth (I have perma camos for some french cruisers thanks to the previous space stage, which can accelerate the grind. While the whole Haru line is good and fun to play, especially Aki and Kitakaze), and their T10s are kind of meh & unattractive due to various reasons. The US heavy cruiser line might be another good choice as I too have their perma camos, but Des Moines is just too good to give up. 

Thanks for reading all this long winded paragraphs *bows* , any thoughts/suggestions/experiences of regrinding will be greatly appreciated, or if there's some lines which you feel better and have a blast while regrinding them feel free to share your experience as well.

The new Soviet light Cruiser line isn't too bad to regrind through, neither is the Japanese Cruiser line with the exception of Ibuki.

the cheapest line is the IJN gunbote dd = quickest

you can smoke and you can gun

smoke is now benefit with the new signal - even better play style

 

remembered to re grind once every 3 months

Nevsky is a keeper so I think I will not regrind that line once I grind her out (maybe after a long long time I will finally get her) , I would say regrinding light cruisers will be a bit more challenging due to the IFHE nerfs, especially T6-T7 light cruisers as their HE shells can't pen 32mm armor currently. I rebought the Shchors a couple of months ago to get Tallinn and my performance are heavily influence by the MM, if its mid tier I can break the 100k damage barrier easily, but if I am kicked into T8/T9 (which is most of the time) I struggle to break 60k damage per battle. 

On the other hand IJN cruisers are a solid pick, thanks for pointing it out, since Zao is powercrept to oblivion now + her legendary upgrade was nerfed so I really need to gather motivation to pick her into matches. The whole line is not that spectacular but not mediocre as well, they will get the farming job done. I guess I will reset the line once I finish my Zao's legendary upgrade missions. please buff Zao, maybe just a few thousand more hp will be enough

Yup, that's what I am planning to, the line is really fun but I am currently adjusting my playstyle for Kitakaze (I kept failing to torpbeat in her so I am training my wasd skills now)

I would go for the french cruiser due to all of them having the space camo, there alot of resources saved 😄

I resetted the line .. at least the last time i played

See that's 100% a canundrum...

IMO MN CAs are great 1-8... And very average at 9-10...

IJN gunboat DDs are monsters at 8-10 but average elsewhere...

I'd go for MN CAs... maybe? lol

personally I prefer regrinding lines like IJN BBs, CAs, RN BBs, CLs...

USN CAs is a good pick though, many solid ships.

I prefer playing a series of reliable performers, I don't find DDs reliable so I don't enjoy regrinding them...

for consistency i always go for the USN CA line because they all are solid ships after T5, or the soviet DD line 2 because, they are just good

IJN CAs and RN CLs have a quite smooth progression. Meanwhile Monarch and Lion are simply rage inducing in my case, sometimes the dispersion is unbelievably wide and splashes everywhere except the ship. But playing the King George V is fun.

Yeah, USN CAs is one of the earliest lines I started with, when I have laughable positioning skills and 0 idea about the importance of expert loader to heavy cruisers...I might need to atone my horrible stats on them, especially poor Buffalo. I also somehow did not fully grasp the strengths of Grozovoi line yet, which needs a heck ton of gameplay improvement

It really comes down to what you enjoy playing.  You'll spend most of your time at T8 and T9, so lines that have good ships at both of these tiers is important.

I just reset both Russian DD lines, and have been loving it.  I only had to regrind one line up to the tier 8's, which is extremely convenient, and I am currently absolutely loving playing Udaloi and Kiev.  I'm looking forward to Tashkent as well, since it's one of my favourite ships.  I did free XP the low tier stuff because I have plenty to throw around though.

For me, RU CL Line.. loved the gameplay, have 19 pts captain for it, had good stats, and I have premium camo for Chapa and Donskoi

Did my first regrind ever in this line when Moskva turned premium, as I thought I wanted to have Nevsky anyway and tier 9 grind is like 40% of the line, so why not I just reset the line to get some RPs

Since I enjoyed the regrind, now I prepare this line for my next (if someday I want any RP ships/stuff). I didn't sell any ships in the line to keep the upgrades, I havent bought A.Nevsky to avoid losing 8 million credits and considering to get premium camo for Shchors
