AA used to work , now thats useless

you used to be able to build fighter CV builds to counter them , but that has gone

you can build a AA cruiser but even that does not stop them

what do you do , whatever ship you play , apart from another CV , your screwed

group yourself with your team  to create a big AA zone to discourage cv player to strike against you

In the past you can focus on completely obliterate the incoming planes, but now after the rework, you can only focus on how to make your ship an unappetizing target for the enemy CV. Sailing in formation is the easiest way.

yeah welcome to the CV whine train, population on this forum... about 3 people.

you're about 5 months late to the party bud, there's plenty of threads on how to play against CVs here and if you just want to mindlessly whine about how OP they are then i suggesting moving to the NA forums, they still have their anti CV boner on all the time

AA no matter how strong it is it won't stop CV from striking you 1st time but it reduces it chances for 2nd and 3rd time.

It's intentionally design that way or else CV won't be able to do any damages at all.

And no, there is no counter play to these class.

Maybe try to get into different shoes, and see how it turns out.

BBabies complain about HE-spammers & stealth-torping DDs since day 1. But when they figure out how it works for the other parties, they do whatever it takes to avoid themselves from the latter Although the most common thing they do after learning from it is to camp away from the frontline because.... it kinda works (most BBs have longer gun range than whatever the latter throw at them).

And don't get me started about "that" other class' misery & suffering.... they deserve it for holding too much influence.

AA isn't a counter to CV's, it's designed to provide game play for the CV captain, rather than the surface ship.  It provides a decision making process for the CV, and punishes errors in play.

The counter to CV's for a surface ship is the same as the counter to any other ship - positioning and maneuvering.

I get that it's a game and not a simulator, however honestly I'm really starting to wonder whether people realise the way warships fight changed because the war proved that lone ships were basically completely helpless no matter how well they were equipped with AAA.

And even if they were grouped up, if the pilots were determined to press home an attack it was going to get through.

prob is you cant group with other players , unless you like camping at the back of the map with all the other cowards , positioning and manoeuvring means jack shit if the CV isn't a potato

im not complaining , just trying to work out good counters for them

whine train , they are hugely OP , you can see that in almost every game

why was every counter to the CV nerfed to the point they are useless now

They’re not op.... As far as earning a profit goes.

They are just really annoying that can too easily take advantage when you are at your weakest.

The concept is that, much like surface ships, each attack or “salvo” will cause some damage if aimed correctly with the right ammunition.

The annoyance coming from the fact that your standard methods for avoiding damage you use for surface ships will not necessarily work for avoiding planes.

The other big annoyance comes from the fact that the primary defence against them is teamwork and tactics that is perceived to be not as common on this server than other Servers.

That, and that fact that the perceived “uselessness” of AA means that few people spec full AA these days.

Of course, my major issue is how they negate concealment. Their speed makes them far too effective at hunting down low hp fleeing ships trying to go undetected.

We’ll see what the air concealment changes do about that.

Absolutely wrong.  Obviously a good CV player will make life more difficult for you, but you can significantly mitigate incoming damage by getting your positioning and maneuvering right.  Just like when a BB takes a shot at you, you angle in or out to both dodge the shot and use your armour to reduce the damage, if you maneuvre correctly against a CV you will take significantly less damage, sometimes even no damage.

If this isn't working for you, you're quite simply not doing it right.  I am happy to be attacked by CV's in any ship, it doesn't bother me at all.  I'll take some damage, but I can make the CV get sick of attacking me very quickly.  The only time I really get caught out by a CV is when I lose awareness of the CV squadron position in a task saturating engagement, and then I could well be placed in a sub-optimal position to defend a CV attack, and lose a heap of health.  That's my fault though, I deserve to be whacked for it, and good on the CV for recognising the right moment to hit me.

yes explaine how "all the counters" have been nerfed?

AA mechanics changed to fit the level of damage that CVs can output now

blabbing works just as well as before

air spotting got nerfed to high hell

the only thing that changed for surface ships is that now theres no "click button to outplay" and DDs get focused down more

While I agree with you in concept, I find that positioning and manoeuvring is still more difficult Against a CV than surface ships. Especially in a BB (Although the armour and HP help, At least early game).

The major annoyance is that planes are faster than any other ship. You could be effectively positioning against enemy ships in front, only to have a CV come from the side, forcing you to make a decision as to expose broadside or take the hit. Of course, the lower damage of CVs against ships like BBs, you would just take the hit.

Of course, annoying as I find them, I accept that they exist and are not going away or changing (much) anytime soon.

yes but there used to be ways to counter them , but everything has been nerfed to the point it doesnt work , CV now have endless planes they can throw at you , you used to be able to build cruiser with AA build that used to deter CV , but not that AA is useless , planes will just fly though it

CV players, like all other players, will go after the lowest hanging fruit.

Do not make yourself the lowest hanging fruit.

or you know, you could try and not be a hypocrite and tell people to shut up when you feel people are whineing about your whine?

it's the internet, if you dont want your feelings hurt then you might as well not post

i'll post under your post as long as you keep whining, so you might as well join me in this hole, it's pretty comfy too
