3. Player-controlled support ships

We had the mechanics that could make them possible during the "Raid for the Filth" event. But I don't think WG will ever implement it into the normal game modes.

Come on you suggest Land Based Aircraft but no bombers? Where are the B-17s and B-25s? Or the G3Ms and G4Ms (made more amusing by the fact they are actually land-based Navy planes)? :crab:

With that said though, I miss Ultimate Frontier and Cherry Blossom.

I have a small little collection of bomber knowledge.
The only ones I know are the Boeing's B-17 Flying Fortress (Memphis Belle) & B-29 Super Fortress (Atomic Bomb), North American B-25 Mitchell (Doolittle Raid), Avro Lancaster (mentioned in Call of Duty: United Offence) and Junkers Ju-88 (Battle of Britiain).
I have little collection of other nation bombers.

Sure there are a lot more but these planes were the ones that made a more recognition than others. Well at least from my perspective.:Smile_hiding:

 

I will admit. I am more fond of multi-role / fighter aircraft than bombers.

It was Ace Combat 2 that got me interested in aviation.

And it was Tamiya 1/350 and 1/700 scale models that got me interested in battleships and cruisers.

Yeah those are the more famous ones. The B-29s especially were a real pain for the Japanese later in the war, and part of the reason why the B-29 bombings of Japan were so effective was that there was little that could be done to stop them. The B-29s flew too high, too fast, were too well armoured and too heavily armed, and that's assuming they didn't have their own fighter escorts.

For me, I am more of a bomber/heavy fighter kinda person, especially the twin-engined fighters with rear gunners. For that reason, I am looking forward to getting the Parseval because BF110s yay! :cap_rambo:

Now I'm thinking that T10 carriers should be heavy fighters in hull A and / or B. And hull B and / or C will allow them to mount first gen jet fighters.

Players will need to choose between piston driven aircraft or jet fighter aircraft. They will have their pros and cons.
Kind of like UU. It's option not mandatory. And the play style will be slightly different due to speed difference and armor.

Piston driven aircraft will be numerous vs jet fighers.
Piston aircraft will attack in pairs or in 3, while jet fighters will attack with 1 or 2 airctaft.
Piston aircraft will be easy to shoot down. Jet aircraft will be more difficult.
Piston aircraft is slower than jet aircraft. Jet aircraft will eat more flak (if they pass through those black clouds)

Those are some of the balances that can be implemented.

This one is certainly true once Kitakami is back in action....it 's just that everyone is going to be playing that mini-game of dodge the torps.
