Are the boxes we see in the chat chinese most of the time?

Where are most of the chinese players from? I always thought mainlanders played on a different server.

Not entirely. Could be Chinese, or Japanese, or Korean. Those 3 are usually written in boxes. And WG is the only game company (that I know of) that does that, while other games (that I have played) has no such issue.

And there are Chinese speaking / writing players from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.

 

China server has not been updated since or after the French battleship arc. (0.7.2 or 0.7.4)

It was a negotiation issue between the 2 companies.

So there are a few players from mainalnd China that came out to play in SEA server.

 

I may not be 100% correct / sure. Since I am not very familiar with their laws.

Please correct if there is discrepancy.

most of the time yes, the chinese players are some of the most active in chat these days. but it could also be korean/japanese or thai 

as for the Chinese server, yes it exists but it went defunct around a year and a half ago when they stopped updating, they plan to resurrect the server some time soon tho so you might see less boxes in chat in the near future

Sometimes the boxes are also emoji/whatever that is. So yes it's just the chat system being a jerk on anything other than the standard alphabets

I ran the language mod for a while, 100% mostly Chinese, probs 80%+ of the time.

I did it out of curiousity more than anything, I found it a tad amusing.

Also based on some of the integers used, they are often whinging about win-rates, number of battles or commenting on whether there are CVs...
