Do player have to play twice the grind to get both ship branches ?

This are not really a problem on another tech tree because the branches happen at T4 & T5.
But the USSR DD branch happen on T7. That's need sometime to own both DD.
Thank god I''ve played longer enough & own free xp to spent for it.
But new players will have to deal with it, especially player similar like me who have ambition to own all (non-prem) ships.
WG should make new script that if you're unlock one branch, it's automatically unlock the other.
Minsk also not really enjoyable DD to grind, imo, but it's subjective of course.

Actually yes you have to regrind it.

And I don't think it is possible to make both ships unlocked in a single grind. Kiev & Ognevoi have different exp requirements after all.

I abandoned wanting to get all tech tree ships a long time ago after I figured the rate at which WG introduced new ships is faster than I can grind them haha

Then I settled on more reasonable targets for me such as getting all tier X for US Line (got all 5 of them that already) and getting at least 1 tier X from each countries (got all but 2 left which is Pan eu and italy navy)

I will find new target after I get this. Targets are good, motivate you to keep playing, which is what WG wanted, haha

Is it possible ; might be ; to reset both Soviet line at the same time . Or is it at any one time one can only reset and regrind a single line … I suppode similar question for IJN DD ; USS , RN , & Soviet Cruisers ( ok Soviet Cruisers in the future ) 

If so at least the low to mid tier grind saves a bit whether its time or FXP

Anyway had no intention to regrind anything ; too many lines that I had not even get to high tiers yet

Just sharing info, for 3900 matches got me all tech tree from T7 to T8 (minus Kiev). Probably x5 that number to get all T10. But I don't plan to raise them to T9 & T10, because the repair cost. Just stay in T8, grind for credits.

Edit : There's no CV, but I'm actually own both IJN & USN CV, before overhaul. When WG cash back, I decide to upgrade some T7 ship to T8.

Irrespective of the Tech Tree line, you have to grind the Ship in the tier prior to the split, twice.

ATM ships with multiple grinds are:

• T2 Cruisers (except Italy - RM Nino Bixio) have a grind for their nation's T2 (first) DD and the subsequent T3 Cruiser.
• T3 Cruisers (except Italy - RM Taranto) have a grind for their nation's T3 (first) BB and the subsequent T4 Cruiser.
• T4 IJN Isokaze for:
  • T4 IJN Hosho;
  • T5 IJN Mutsuki; and
  • T5 IJN Minekaze.
• T4 USS Clemson for:
  • T4 USS Langley; and
  • T5 USS Nicholas.
• T5 USS Omaha for:
  • T6 USS Dallas; and
  • T6 USS Pensacola.
• T7 VMF Minsk for:
  • T8 VMF Ognevoi; and
  • T8 VMF Kiev;
• T7 VMF Shchors for:
  • T8 VMF Chapayev; and
  • T8 VMF Tallin (Update 0.9.6).
• T4 KMS V-170 for:
  • T4 KMS Rhein; and (Update 0.9.9)
  • T5 KMS T-22
• T4 HMS Wakeful for:
  • T4 HMS Hermes; and
  • T5 HMS Acasta
• T4 HMS Danae for:
  • T5 HMS Emerald; and

IJN Isokaze is an alright DD but 3 grinds with the CV meta is also painful.

Holy Dayuum ... what is wrong with USSR trees ? ... When I came back from hiatus, I was late playing Soviet event, only got like 500 soviet stars. So now I have to grind both Minsk & Shchors twice ? ... both ship are .

Unfortunately, I had to buy back the Shchors (sold it long time a go for a slot) for grinding the Tallinn. Same thing happened with their DD line, grinding on Minsk, then got the Ognevoi researched, then continuing Minsk grind for the Kiev. Tech tree branching at high tier are surely "something".
