How do I link my newly registered DMM account to my Wargaming (Asia) account?

I created a DMM account, downloaded DMM Game Player and downloaded WoWs on it, and used the Japanese client to enter the game. However, when loading into the game, I was asked to link my Wargaming account to my DMM account. I clicked 'OK' and was redirected to a webpage that asked if I want to continue as "Verguenza" (my account name). However, even after choosing that option, my DMM and Wargaming accounts were not linked, and I was still asked to link the accounts together when I tried opening the JP client again.

So I managed to download and install DMM Player which took one hell of a long time cause I live in the Philippines and I think there are certain limits  to the services. Took me a while, but I was able to eventually get the DMM player working. problem is, everything is in Japanese, and I have no idea how to link it to my current WoWs account. I do hope there's no need to download WoWs again using DMM cause nearly 70+ GB on my abysmal internet speed is torture. Anybody know what can be done? I really want these new commanders!

I think this happened to me as well. I basically turned off the app and restarted the PC. After a while, I was directed to a login screen after opening the app, so I logged in

So I am guessing this doesn't work for those who already have existing DMM accounts? Because I already have a DMM account to play Kancolle.

Does it work if I download the DMM player and use it to launch WoWs?

so, basically, to get hololive commander for free is only on a new wows account made in DMM and the commanders cannot be transfered to existing account at wargaming or steam?

sure that's a possibility. however, on the news page: https://worldofwarships.asia/en/news/general-news/hololive_commanders/

it states:

note the OR qualifier. so it's, make a new DMM account and play the game through their player. OR, log-in to WOWS with a new DMM account. this suggests existing players can get it with a new DMM account. but existing DMM accounts can't do it. so people like me who've never heard of DMM, should be able to create an account, jump the hoops to get the client DL'd via the aweful DMM client and play the game via that to unlock them.

and further down it states:

Nowhere there does it say "already have a wargaming account?" or anything to the like to suggest existing wargaming account holders can't partake in this promotion.

 

and at this time, also according to that page, the event has been live for an hour and a half, so should be working.

more clarity or at least something from someone who knows what's going on would be cool...
