first time in T10? you'd better get used to it, all the t10s are like this if not worse. you cant break even even with prem account on the CVs some times

I was shocked first time at T9, not so much at T10. Kurfurst was my first T10 ship. I spent cash and bought the permanent camo for it's 50% discount on service costs. I also always run the economic flags (especially now we can mount up to 21 flags). I can't remember the last time I made less than 50,000 profit (and that was a shite game). Most games I make in excess of 100K credits profit.

if you play for grinding new lines and only play T10s sparingly then prem time is more worthwhile than prem camo for the T10s imho, you make the same at T10 either way and it helps with the lower tier grind significantly

True. I forget premium time because I have over a year still on my account. Combine premium account, permanent camo and economic flags for long term play. I need to concentrate on grinding credits myself though, 5 lines researched but not bought the T10 ship - I keep going back to other lines and spend all my credits buying and upgrading those ships up to the T9 (eg Lion cost 32 million credits to fully research, upgrade and equip). Conqueror will cost 24 million credits (includes clan bonuses).

And yet people wonder why the high tier games are very campy.... because dying early does not pay the bill.

On the other hand though, that is also why people say the T9 premium ships earn more credits than the T10 because the T9 is significantly cheaper to run (more forgiving when you die too early).

Personally speaking, this is also why I rarely play my non-premium high tier ships (except those which I put the Infernal camo on).

If you wanna use the premiums, use premium camo if you planning to play a lots of tier 10 battles. Or, use premium account if you spend more of your time in middle tier battle (about tier 5 to 8 ) rather than high tier battle (about tier 8 to 10).

If you can, preserve your expendable camo or economic signal for high tier battles since low to middle tier battle are more forgivable for you economy without using those signal.

I would like to welcome the threadstarter to the cruel world of wows economics. She is a cruel mistress. 

Tips to fix your economy:

1. Premium account. The best investment you will ever make especially if you buy it during Christmas. Although the Christmas sale returns have been diminishing as compared to the past. Consider your long term plans. 6/12 months accounts are most economical as you only need to play 1/3rd of the time to recoup the money spent as opposed to buying a daily pass.

2. Invest in permanent camo for ships that you play often. 

As a primarily co-op player, I make money on my T10 games. (as long as I don't play money losing CV).

And also why you see so many premium or special ships at T9 & 10. Even though none have the credit making power of Missouri, they still make good bank.

That is because WG wants you to;

a) buy premium time.

b) buy perma camo

c) buy more signals to cut cost and increase earnings.

At the end of the day, they want money, and this is one of the ways they get you to give it to them.

That's how the game economy is designed to work.   Mid tiers are played to finance T10 play.

Old Economies would easily bleed you 150K++ per match if you cant pull your own weight

current T10 economies is like EZ mode compared to back then

 

Botters back then would bleed their credits dry,  bad match could spiral into negative very very very quickly

Yeah, they made it so ; its hellish for low to mid tier new players luring them to buy into those mid to high tier premium, and at mid to high tier they made it so that players are lured, enticed, forced, whatever ; to buy perma Camou and Premium time ...  T10 is actually a kind of bait and switch tactics , on the paper, its T10, its got all the wonders .. but seriously so many T9 can do just fine and face off a T10 straight , and even some T8 can do quite OK in a T10 game ; if you got the coal, go get one of those T9/T10 and that would be one of the most economical way to go ( as of now )

Tier 9 or 10 coal ships are good investment or solution if you prefer high tier battle. Some of them came with permanent camouflage that increase your credits gain, also most of their camouflage had a cost reduction per battle effect.
