Is 2100 base XP really so hard?

I have now finished the European Destroyers mission without this, but the 2100 base XP in one game seems to be beyond my abilities.

What's the trick?

To be bottom tier in the last 20 or so battles does not help...

At least few games with CV's in recent days for me.

2. Play well (cap, get torpedo hits, cause lots of damage, get citadels)

3. Win the game

In my experience, you can’t go into a battle expecting you’ll make the expected amount of base Xp, too many variables. You just have to hope things go your way.

You want a big game 150k+ in most ships plus some defendeds, planes and or caps. the more of the last three you get, the less damage you need.

The damage you do get needs to be higher % of total HP, so DDs, CL/As are great ones.

But yeah, 2100s can be tricky when you are trying for them.

This took ages. I had been trying to do other things in DDs (get 40k spotting damage and live, spot torpedoes etc) so I wasn't focused on playing a "pure" DD game.

But after I did all the peripheral stuff in previous missions I came to my Lightning and just focused on playing a standard DD game.

Perhaps a little more aggressively that I would otherwise if I wasn't chasing 2100 base.

I got lucky in killing 2 other DDs who I was fighting for caps. UK hydro is so good defensively. I easily dodged two full spreads of torps from the Kagero - torps that may otherwise have caused great peril.

Note my damage is not that high though.

Luck and higher tier gameplay both help.

2. play either as support CA of farming CA

3. target CAs/DDs

Some things I notice that MAY help with more base XP:

+ Breaking 100k damage mark;

+ Destroying at least 2 ships;

+ Getting achievements, quite obviously;

+ Breaking 1 mil potential damage mark;

+ Getting "Spotted", "Captured", "Assisted in Capture" and "Defended" ribbons;

+ Getting more kinds of ribbons in a battle. I feel that in matches where I only got "Destroyed", "Main gun hits" and "Set on fires", even with 100k+ damage, I still get low-mediocre base XP. In my screenshots here, it's clear that I got almost all of kinds of ribbons, and I believe it helped increasing my base XP.

Essentially it's damage dealt as %, adjusted for tier disparity, caps/defendeds are big, planes help too, securing kills, there's a thing on it in the warships wiki.

Normally you will need to get both Confederate & High Caliber at the very least. Then you need Witherer, Dreadnought, or AA Defense Expert. In short, damage farming.

You have to play well and at high tiers.

Also a bit of luck is required, because both teams need to be equally skilled. Otherwise one will just steamroll the other, leaving the winner with poor rewards.

And nowadays games seem to be nothing but one-sided steamrolls.

Like others said,

a) play high tier only (recommended play as T9 so can go to T9-T7 MM for farming ez credits and ofc base xp if can depend on your ship)

b) only play the ship that you familiar with (ofc must included skills).

c) hoped your team not potatos nor bots but hoped the enemy team is potatos.

TBH, I almost went full credit farming mode recently with my Friesland, Jean Bart and Musashi for helping my base xp grinding tasks and it was a really successful where i managed to collected +20m credit and some containers related task nyaa~~.

I also played past midnight as T9 which also helped alot cz at that time both team might be potatos and bots also there might low chance encounter some T10s and high change met T7s but not really recommended, just saying nyaa~~.

Also careful playing as dd, many donskoi wanted you dead nyaa~~.

If you think it's hard in Randoms, try to achieve it in Co-op only....

Best I have ever achieved was just over 1200 base xp....

Easiest way:

Play CV, until a game that your team wins the domination.

When you see your team is most likely will win, when  the enemies are got pushed somewhere to the edge of the map, go with your CV to cap.

Capping 1 cap already provide you with 1500 base EXP. You just need to add the 600 shortage by damage etc. That is how I managed to going through all KoTs combat missions which have similar requirements as yours.

You don't have to survive the battle. All you need is your team wins the battle and you had capped at least 1 cap with your CV.

T8+ may not be necessary, just played T7 Helena CL
