G'day Folks,

So here we are, BLUF for Albemarle... @Project45_Opytny, @dejiko_nyo.

Video includes a build, including comments on other options and as with the more recent additions there's noob-o-meter and skill-o-meter rating as well.

Shout-out to @Rub1c0n, who features in chat at around 07:26.

For those with reddit, please see the reddit link and comment/upvote - see if we can crack the salt-wall.

Thoughts?

Noice. Good explanation of the ships strengths and weaknesses, I personally enjoyed that ship a lot. I really liked the concealment and, like you, used it to get the jump and then disengage before the target had much of a chance to respond. In that sense it reminds me a bit of Zao.

Thanks mate.

I'm trying to find a blend of that type of gameplay for Goliath at the moment, something like firing whilst already 'bugging out'

Nice video.

I didn't like the ship at first, but over the course of grinding it it has started to grow on me a little. It still isn't an easy ship to play though and in some matches its weaknesses can be glaringly obvious.

Personally I find the ship most useful as an island hugger. Just sit behind an island set BBs on fire all day. She has great HE to do that. You can use her good concealment to ambush DDs or fight in open water, but this is pretty risky and requires you having great battlefield awareness and knowing when to disengage, otherwise you get deleted by an unfortunate enemy salvo thanks to that huge citadel.

Overall I would say it is a relatively high skill floor ship.

Yeah I thoroughly agree, however due to it's ability to get reliable results from island safety and good turret layout, I had to give it a hugher mark than Surrey, even for noobs.

It's been oddly civil there though, a few brought up some valid points, like how they should have styled the line. I really think they should be given better handling/acceleration like the CL line to tie them together a bit better, if they had that then the weak armour and big citadels wouldn't matter so much. I think a lot of the comments about it having a relatively high skill floor are right, which is a shame, because we really need more lines that are interesting and competitive than just the VMF (and that's coming from me, someone who's avatar pic is the pacific fleets patch)

Yeah acceleration would help but it wouldn't solve it. RN CLs actually don't have the best rudder shift, frequently being in the 'average' categories...

TBH the RN CAs all probs need the acceleration buff and then a slight rudder shift buff across the board and Goliath needs a spotter plane and rudder only marginally worse than Drake.

I mean I'm currently running propulsion, rudder 2 and range mod and she's starting to feel 'ok' but subsequently her damage potential is now complete trash...
