High Expolsive Shell Citadels are now possible.

In case you know, the Penetrations from High Explosive hurts more than Armor piercing

 

High Explosive can cause Detonation on turrets or getting Citadeled when showing Broadside.

 

Ships vulnerable to HE Citadels are:

1. Primarily all U.S Light Cruisers

2. Pensacola

3. Des Moines (Only possible with 18-incher guns)

4. All soviet Cruisers (Except Moskva)

5. Minotaur/Neptune

6. Myoukou (and all of its versions, ARP.)

7. Atago

8. Albermarle/Drake/Goliath

9. French Cruisers (Only when Broadsiding, Except Heavy Cruisers)

HE citadels were possible ages ago. I regularly did it using scharnhost vs a particular omaha.

Mino & Neptune can be citadeled by Yoshino's HE before the change.

HE citadels have always been possible, as long as the target ship's citadel is directly exposed.

I remember last week or so I devstruck a Minotaur in my Conqueror by HE citadelling him. I certainly was not expecting that to happen, and neither was the friendly Friesland the Mino was trying to kill.

I was hunting a Ranger(?) yesterday(?) in my Kiev and just kept scoring citadels while throwing HE on it.

Ranger's citadel can be penetrated easily on her rear half. I did that several times with Icarus' HE.
