Once they find you in low tiers you are as good as dead and really of no use to your team.   Im not sure how "Reducing the skill gap for CV players" outweighs the overall health of the low tier games and encouraging new players to the game.

But hey, what would I know.  I'm terrible at spreadsheets.

I'm a wizard at spreadsheets and I know it is a -bleeping- bad idea. The way they are using spreadsheets is HERESY!

Having triple carriers at Tier IV does not make it fun for the newbies just coming into the game, imagine coming into the game then getting chucked into a match against triple CV's you might as well do a U turn and sail off the map.

Note: When your carriers cannot provide fighters for your team because tier IV carriers don't have any the rest of your team gets hammered and in which 80% of the ships at that tier have terrible AA so you might as well say your goodbyes....

And they still keep asking why do people not play mid tier, why do people not play low tier ...

As a sometimes dd player when i see 2 or more Cv's my heart sinks and I spend the entire match just trying to stay alive and maybe get a torp spread away. It has reduced my game enjoyment. which in turn reduces my desire to spend money on the game.

I play Clemson from time to time.

Last night, my biggest problem was facing a seaclubbing V-170 with RPF, AFT, BFT and God knows what else maxxed out.

My second biggest problem was friendly AA cruisers who absolutely refused to stay alive past the 7 minute mark.

My third biggest problem was friendly DDs who figure they can do no wrong by just heading straight for the cap at full speed and smoking up.

The aircraft carriers themselves? Not that much of a direct threat.

The irony.

They somehow have the mentality of smoke = absolute defense and "I am completely invincible in smoke" Meanwhile they died even before they were able to finish capping :l

It's just a visual cloak to be honest and any good players can just slap them hard with blind torps and blind fire

Point taken. My captain isn't 19pt or anything close though. That's not a hobby.. that's a sealclubbing career.

I keep thinking if I ever feel like spending the time/elite captain xp if would be funny/useless to secondary spec Mikasa.

I think that’s less of a sealclubbing career and more of a joke though.

Moot point because too occupied with high tier grinding.

I threw a 19 pointer in the Mikasa.  Its just too slow and the secondary range isn't event good with a captain.   You may as well make a career out of it and take out a Tachibana with a shim captain in it
