Language Barrier Shouldn't Be Such A Problem

It is not purely the player base's fault for not pushing. The tools for coordination are simply insufficient and lots of information is hidden. When a person doesn't know whats going on, it is difficult to expect them to act.

There are many things which have to go through the chat box because there is a severe lack of information transparency between allies. The Asia server feels this effect the most. Some people like to blame "square boxes" for it.

Language barriers simply shouldn't be a major problem outside of coordinated competitive modes such as clan battles. This is a lack of proper tools and UI for players.

This fault lies in WG, although it would not be a surprise if its just laziness or even intentional.

The default UI settings exist to set players up for failure. And even after turning all the settings on, it is still bare bones.

It essentially needs modding to be decent. However mods are only limited to taking the available information and presenting it in a better format, so it cannot solve everything.

In an ideal circumstance, a proper UI would:

  • allow players to view ALL the basic information that could be asked for.

  • allow players to communicate their intentions to teammates.

  • allow players to make requests to teammates through it.

Problems with current communication tools:

Minimap Pings:

  • A player can ping the minimap, in order to draw attention to it. However it is completely up to other players to assess on the meaning of the ping. This may not be always clear.

Quick Radio, or "Radio Commands":

  • There is no radio to tell teammates of your intentions. All the available radios are used to make requests, give orders, and a yes or no response. It is commands only, and even then it is still limited.

Information that should be available but isn't:

  • You should be able to identify the consumable duration and CDs on friendly ships. If they can pick between 2 consumables, you should be able to see which they have. This lets you know about the short term capabilities of your allies.

  • You should be able to indicate where you intend to go. This lets you coordinate pushes.

  • You should be able to request allies to go to certain positions.

We all share 1 language, and that is the game UI. It just isn't fleshed out.

Except potatoes who never learnt to read the minimap.

  •

was thinking about this too, able to see what type of consumable player are using

If is available to use, show the consumable beside players name

if cooldown, either grey out or just hide it
