Commanders!
As promised, steps will be taken towards changing Unique Upgrades. Firstly, we'll update the way in which they are obtained. With the release of Update 0.9.2, Unique Upgrades will appear in the Armory's Rubbish Burnheap/Naval Trash Cove. The combat missions and challenges to get Unique Upgrades will also change.

Combat missions granting Unique Upgrades can be obtained until the release date of Update 0.9.1 (February 12-13, 2020)
Any missions already obtained, will expire on the release date of Update 0.9.2 (March 11-12, 2020)

We’re going to revamp existing upgrades and add new ones in the future. Stay tuned for more news!

So basically, if I want to get Legendary Upgrades, I have to use the trashy features known as Rubbish Burnheap/Naval Trash Cove, which is a trash tier feature thank to its trashy implementation? No thanks, Russian HARD PASS on that offer.

Also, incoming Update 0.9.0:

Quote

The game will feature a new temporary resource—British Tokens. They can be obtained by:

  • Completing each of the four Directives
  • Completing chains of Daily Missions
  • Collecting Daily Shipments

Visit the Armory to exchange your Tokens for random bundles. Each bundle contains various desirable items, including camouflage patterns, special signals, Coal, and many other rewards.

UPDATE.

Commanders!

Please pay attention to additional information and changes regarding latest DevBlog post about Unique Upgrades.

First of all, we thank you for your feedback and suggestions. While moving Unique Upgrades to Research Bureau is a necessary step to evolve this system, we decided to prolong the existing Unique Upgrades missions for the whole year 2020. That means that you have plenty of time complete them at reasonable pace without the fear of loosing already received progress.

Also, as initially stated, you still can receive these missions until Update 0.9.1.

What's even more important, we appreciate your concerns about big changes to the gameplay aspect of Unique Upgrades themselves. We're happy to clarify: there are none. Unique Upgrades are meant as a way to customize your ship with a fair trade-off, and we are keeping them such.

What we want to do with the announced changes is:

- To introduce the long awaited new upgrades for some tier X ships that don't have them;
- To finally revise the existing Unique Upgrades - some of them might be a bit too strong, and some of them might be to weak or overly specialized;
- To move their delivery method to more flexible Bureau - while it may require some additional changes to Bureau in future, this system is much easier to sustain than the increasing number of combat missions for each ship.

We will surely keep you updated on specific changes as they are being designed, but again, the core concept of these upgrades is absolutely the same: they offer some alternative playstyle, and do not work as direct buff.

Thank you for your attention and input!

Then I need to finish my Haku and Yamato's. The rest are still barely even started.

Legendary upgrades in RB is fine. It is "research into better upgrades". Ships are not. Remove ALL ships from that garbage.

They know RB/NTC is trash and are doubling down on their mistakes.

The community can tolerate only so much. If they don't take care of them now, eventually, they should not expect the community to defend them.

In its current form, I'll pass.

So that means Legendary Upgrades will be reserved for players that have access to NTC/RB?

Bad news for some new players who are aimed at competitions that will grind the current meta picks ASAP to join Clan and Ranked battles.

The Rubbish Burnheap/Naval Trash Cove needs to change its way.

NO selling of ships in the line. Completely unnecessary and utterly pointless.

Geez more of this NTC/RB nonsense. First the Puerto Rico then this. WG is really trying to cater to the no-life grinders/botters. But I am guessing it is just to give players an alternative way of getting the upgrades. If so, I can't complain.

But wait what? The current missions are going to expire in March?

I have only completed the Haku and Midway missions, while Yamato and GK are nearing completion.

The others are in various states of completion. You mean all the progress I had on them is going to be wasted? Can't WG, I dunno, just keep them there? Just don't let any more players access the old missions, but keep it there for players to complete.

Oh ffs WG.

WG also botched the wording, if you pay attention.

It's "Legendary", not "Unique" (which kind of imply the same things I guess). Only "Legendary" upgrades require missions to get.

@dejiko_nyo you regrind lines before, right?

Do you get the full price (100%) of the ships back or just 50%?

Also, what is the point of selling ships when all it needs is just resetting the progression in a line and all xp transferred to the T1 of the line.

Selling the ships accomplices NOTHING. It's EXTRANEOUS and POINTLESS to have such a thing in place. I have zero interest in resetting a line if all my ships get sold so I have to re-buy and re-fit them, which also takes many many UNNECESSARY extra clicks. NOT selling the ships also allows me to grind the ships in ANY ORDER I want.

I do not believe I'm the only one who thinks like this.

Good idea, trashy execution.

You just get back 50%. Same if you were to manually sell it. The upgrades are demounted for free.

So yeah, regrinding the line is a big credit burner.

This thing called RB is one the few things I will never touch. While I don't have problem with credits, my problem is the amount of time I would have to waste on the regrinding process without skipping it. Credits are renewable, wasted time is not.

Oh FFS WG. :Smile-angry:

I have a confusion between these two statements:

The combat missions and challenges to get Unique Upgrades will also change.

and this

Any missions already obtained, will expire on the release date of Update

I second this. Also gating those unique upgrades behind NTC is basically WG's original idea of buffing ships after regrinding it which is a terrible idea...

Will they let us pay doubloons in removing the modules? I hope not.

I do not understand why WG really loves to double down or even triple down on unpopular decisions?

After they moved the unique upgrades to RB, they will buff them. We will effectively get the NTC that we protested against, except its under the guise of an existing feature.

Calling it now just in case it actually happens.

Why I don't have any doubt about this?
