What crates to buy for best value this year?.

I will likely splurge a small amount myself,and I understand last year it WASN'T the biggest xmas boxes that gave the best chances of a premium ship, it was the second most expensive ones.

I think it goes small, medium, large, mega?.

Y'all expecting the same this year?.

I will get a package of 20 boxes and see how she floats, take it from there.

I seem to mostly get signals and camos, I have thousands of all, yet don't grind tech tree so much.

But this year due to being afk for at minimum 2 weeks during xmas, the most they get out of my bank is 20 boxes. And obviously not doing PR grind fest.

Always go Mega if you do buy. The best returns on investment. How many? Your choice.

Only bought 8, coz was still 50 bucks, got the megas, the most expensive containers.

 

2k doubloons, some camos and signals I didn't need AT ALL, despite WG ability to mine data from your account to determine your rng. 

 

NO SHIPS.

It is not all about the premium ships. To me, the dragon flags are just as valuable since they give you huge multipliers. If you fail in getting those ships, are the runner up prizes worth it?

Yes, I have read that "study". You have to remember though that was a cumulative opening of boxes across many boxes. For an individual, it's a bare fraction of that number. I got 40 megas last year and ended up iirc with about 5 ships, none of which were in my top 3 wishlist (Kami R, Kutu, Payfast)

I opened 12 containers total and got 0 ships.

You have a chance to get a ship 25% (more or less)

Depends on your RNG and how much WG loves you

Ok maybe I am a little selfish, but I felt something was off with these free containers. I guess I might have used up my luck on Black Friday 😛

I've still never had any ship ever from a free container, from all events we have ever had, or a SC.

I did get Graf Zepp from a purchased BF container, which was nice.

First drop from mega container. And my luck only gave me that out of 20 mega containers.

This is a good but mistaken investment because I never want this ship!

I don't think WG will give out many OP ships that have been removed because they break the match maker! and ruin games!!.

I wonder if any body gets Tier 9 ships. So far, I only saw many Tier 6 and a couple of Tier 8s.

The chances of getting a T9 ship are higher the more lower tier ships you have in your fleet. If I remember the mechanic, it goes through that pool of ships to decide what ship you can get IF you are going to get a ship. It ignores ships you already have. I think it is spelt out in the website.
