enhanced Low tier CV Matchmaker

With the current matchmaker settings, sometimes you might encounter a situation where six aircraft carriers are present in one battle at Tiers IV and V battles. It's difficult for Tier III-V ships to put up a fight against a large number of aircraft carriers, which affects their overall efficiency in battle.

We've prepared changes to the matchmaker that will reduce the number of aircraft carriers in this scenario:

  • For Tier V battles, a soft limit of two aircraft carriers per team will be set. A battle with three aircraft carriers in the team will be possible only after a long wait in the queue.

  • All other Tiers of battle, including IV, will have a hard limit of 2 aircraft carriers per team.

Thank you for highlighting this problem, we will make all the necessary changes required. However, due to technical limitations, these changes will only take effect in one of the next updates in early 2020.

The new algorithms will reduce the number of battles with three aircraft carriers for Tier IV-V ships, and Tier III ships will not encounter more than two aircraft carriers in a team after these changes. At the moment, the popularity of Tier IV aircraft carriers is very high, so stricter restrictions than those described could have a significant impact on waiting times in the queue and also lead to the assembling of a large amount of incomplete teams.

We will continue to monitor the situation and make additional changes if necessary.

The 3 CV/team/match should never have been implemented, just saying.

 

Now hard limit the number of BBs to 4/team/match in all tiers

Its long overdue and still AA need to be buffed for many many T3 to T5/6 ships

The MM changes are nice, but I'd say T4 carriers are still individually dominating its MM spread. 

What I would suggest WG to do to curb sealclubbers and normalize T4 CVs is to remove the ability to use Engine Boost on all T4 CVs. This way,clubbers wont be able to cycle to their planes as fast as they could now.

This is a concerning change.

How many more MM dumps are there going to be at T4 - we already have plenty due to high CV numbers at this tier, especially on SEA server with our higher CV numbers than other servers.  These MM dumps are fun for very few people, and by their nature have much worse match making.

I'm concerned this doesn't address the root of the problem - primarily the four times longer grind for T4 CV's than T4's of other classes.  This increases the number of T4 CV's in the queue compared to other T4's by a factor of four - of course there are going to be population problems.  Combine that with the poor AA to plane health balance at this tier to attract the seal clubbers, and now you have a significant issue.

This seems like the wrong solution.  In fact it doesn't seem like a solution at all, it's just papering over the cracks.

This is exactly what I am worried about, and why I think enforcing a lower hard cap without tackling the T4 CV population issue first is a bad idea.

This change just seems like a bandaid that doesn't solve the real problems - a bottleneck at T4 thanks to the removal of odd tier CVs, the simple and stress-free nature of low tier CV gameplay compared to that of higher tier CVs, the relatively poor AA performance of ships at that tier...

I fear this change will just make things worse.

When did wg ever do a fix that was specifically aimed at the problem instead of carpet bombing the whole area? Remember Pan-Asia DD? Radar was the problem. Nerf torpedos and guns.
