This thing have been there for ages now. And WG doesn't do anything about it.

I wonder what this thing does these days? Once you complete it, you just consume the rewards. And when it runs out, you just let it sit there.

It seems that there are fewer players who plays PvP these days because of various reason. Also the recent addition of events that can be completed with 4 stages. Like rogue waves, WoWS anniversary, Italian cruisers and such, makes the interest of campaign modes fading away. So what should we do about it?

Add another modes for PvE and new players?

improve it?

rework it?

or maybe remove it?

They don't even seem to remember Legendary Upgrades, Operations that have CVs, amongst other things.

Maybe they could add something similar like Yamamoto/Halsey campaigns, but for the other Legendary Captains like Auboyneau.

It shouldn't be hard to make another new campaign since they can probably just copy-paste a lot of the old missions.

They probs just don't see it as profitable.

They are eclipsed by the current mode of event specific missions instead ... and of course these event and stages o mission all lure the players to spend real money so they can get their hand on the FREEMIUM early

They also have the handy perk that if you have premium you could run three campaign tasks at the same time which was actually really useful, particularly for limited duration events like the DoY Christmas grind, but as was mentioned earlier now its all about selling early access etc, its easy to drop a perk from someone with a premium account, they are already locked in. Really I just wish they'd slow down a bit with all this content, new ships new directive missions, a lot of players a suffering burnout and I'm sure a lot of their staff are too. some permanent campaigns and their slower pace would be a welcomed change.

It’s not that designing campaigns seem that hard, it’s basically an older format of the directives. The main difference between the old campaigns and new directives is that the old campaigns ARE NOT TIMED.

For a casual player, this is the biggest issue, you can’t just log in and continue grinding towards your goals any time you feel like.

And this is primarily because the timed objectives encourage you to spend real money in order to unlock things. There is little profit to be made for the campaigns. How many people buy Shinome if you know you can unlock one for free at any time?
