@MatterCore all I can say is the poor person who coded this must get a lot of surprises in life because they clearly don't take into consideration any factors other than what they can physically see at that moment.

I just think if you're going to remove steering from players hands then you've got to provide something that works. Otherwise it's just another random factor in the match.

EVERYTHING works perfectly well on that map. Including and not limited to: Fleeing, Sniping, Charging, CQC, torpedobeats.

Collision avoidance algorithm was and is always part of the game engine, you will find them in any typical game/computer graphics text books. and it is a well made rocket if someone think it is rocket science.

The coder does not need to the code the algorithm, he just need to how to use it properly

Perhaps that's the problem. Autopilot shouldn't use collision avoidance. If it can't make the route it should cancel. The whole point of autopilot is setting it and saying I wan't you to take this route.

that again is part of the algorithm, it is the game designer not the coder who needs to design the correct and complete routing scenario.

Incorrect. I have never been able to hide behind islands, or stealth fire from island cover, or ambush torpedo on that map.

Can’t say if that’s good or bad.

Yet another game lost to autopilot, about the 3rd in 2 days.. A simple set course to go forward a few boat lengths. Course shows straight ahead. CV reverses out from behind island cover and get shot. Just sigh.
