Nerfing coal chance from resource containers

I found the rate of having more than 1 coal significantly dropped since 0.8.8

i think WG has definitely needed it. Anyone seen this from any official announcement?

I haven't noticed it.  I get coal in nearly every container and regularly get 1200  in a drop.

 

Do you have anything apart from a gut feeling to substantiate this claim?

Well it's hard to say with such a small sample size, but it certainly feels less than it used to be.  I could easily be wrong though.

I've received probably 90% of the potential daily containers since 0.8.8, all "More Resources", and I've had a triple coal once, no double coals, and all the rest single coals.

Exactly this is what is happening to me.

I have definately noticed the same. On the good side though i seem to be getting more 500 free XP drops. Both are handy.

One of our clan mates was complaining of this.

I take great pleasure trolling him in discord with all my multi coal drops.

Saying that it wouldn't surprise me if they had subtly tweaked the drop rate with all the 240 - 260k coal ships coming out to force more grind

Yes, it definitely feels that way. I find that is lot rarer to get 3 coal drops now compared to a while ago. Nowadays it is usually just 1 drop, sometimes 2.

Once thing that has definitely change though - port slot drops. There used to be a time where I rarely needed to buy Port slots or sell unused ships because those drops were frequent enough for a regular player. But I haven't seen a port slot drop in ages.

same, mostly single coal piles, only 2-3 containers in last month have been 3 piles per container.

Not noticed any difference. Since Friday ive had 4 crates that dropped 3 boxes of coal in each.

I hoard my crates and open them all when I get a supercontainer so I'll let you know in a few years time if I've noticed any change

I've switched to try my luck, still trying for an SC with a ship in it...

As coal is not dropping so much now.
