I'll see your 29

and raise you another De Grasse :Smile_glasses:

I did have a Molotov game with 52 or 54 cits, 300k damage, 11 kills and major contribution, last ship alive as transports entered circle and we won with 5 stars. Memorable game. Alas no screenshot so no proof :Smile_facepalm:

At the end of the day winning the op with the most stars and some resemblance of co-ordination and "Teamwork " is more important than the number of citadel hits landed. Sometimes the sun, moon and stars line up and RNGesus says yes to every shot you fire. Others you just gotta dig deep, stay alive and scrap out a win.

As a side note, I played Nurnberg in this op pre CV rework and post CV rework, as I had not played it since way back when I was grinding the line. For me it was a really hard ship to get citadels compared to Budy, De Grasse or Molotov which I usually take out. Probably a combination of the slightly different shell arcs and my own aim not adjusting, but I couldn't even land 20 cits a game in over 10 play throughs of aegis. So your clearly doing something better than I could! :cap_like:

I dunno, since the rework it seems a bit harder to land citadels for some reason for me.I haven't didn't really take note of how many I got the last few days, will keep note this week and see what I get.

Although a lot of them would have been the second wave cruisers from the north west, and some from the third wave cruisers escorting the transports, quite a few would have been from the 3 CV they used have as well.

Nurnberg I play a lot ( especially in Aegis ) which probably accounts for the high score, plus figuring out my own approach to Aegis that gives me the best score with it.I think the main thing with Nurnberg is figuring out how to not get one shot in it.If you can do that and use its AP effectively you can clean up.

Molotov I don't seem to click with, its guns are good but slow firing and for me is even more vulnerable than the Nurnberg.Might have to take it out and see how I go with it now.

Not going to set the world alight with a record number of citadels, but this is my new damage record for Aegis. Beat my previous best by about 20k.

This is what can be achieved when your team fails to kill ships and you strap on your man pants and say "not today punks" and then pick them off one by one in the totally OP for T6 Izmail

I was just in Aegis with @dejiko_nyo and he took Izmail.

He kept saying things like, "why my salvos all getting citadels?"

What a thing to complain about! :Smile_teethhappy:

Well that's probably more impressive.

The reason I made the post about Aegis is because of the numerous squishy bot botes that sail slowly in straight lines in that op.

They don't do that in Raptor... so... more impressive!

Yes Raptor much harder to get high citadel count.

For a good run of Aegis you actually need to face some of the harder ships. Sometimes you get a heap of nothing but T4 Kuma's and as a result you tend to get nothing but overpens with BBs and higher pen AP shells. Citadels definitely not impossible but a bit harder with high pen AP. I much prefer to face more heavily armoured Furus, Aobas and Myokos if you are aiming for citadels and high damage.

Usually my bad luck is that when I get nothing but Kuma's are the games I get amazing RNG for the dispersion. When I get the higher HP ships I get the rubbish dispersion for the entire game. :Smile-angry:

The 383K damage game I posted the screenshot of, it actually all came together. Good ships and good dispersion all in the one game for a change.

Shouldn't have seen this post... So many legendary screenshots :Smile_sad:

Find a ship you are good at that also has good AP shells for a start.

With Aegis you then work out a pattern around the map that lets you get the most hits on the most ships.

When playing the Nurnberg I start by heading slightly south east to help with the first wave, then head back north west to get a good side on with the second wave.I keep out over 12km or so so I can dodge return fire easily.By the time the cruisers escorting the transports show up I am usually close enough and side on to them to easily damage the west most cruisers.I then head for the opening just south of the third island down from the top middle of the map

A lot my citadels was on the old version with the 3 CV.Its harder now with the BB replacing them. From there its just trying to get to the east side of the map to try and get the last waves.Usually a pain as they are going slow and turning a lot which takes some adjustment.

I use Nurnberg as it has terrific AP.I wouldn't recommend it to everyone unless you really know how to play it and survive long enough in it as you will end up dead in it real quick.

My current personal best is at 35 citadel hits. Pensacola's AP hits hard. I find the crucial part is in avoiding getting focused on and burned alive by the second wave.
