Maybe.

 

This is a co-op match.

You hit a bot with 2 pens - probably overpens, 2 x incapacitaions from those pens - again if overpens = zero damage and your fire was instantly put out (because that's what they do!).

 

That is co-op my friend.

Now go and get a drink........

If I remember from somewhere, it hit a module that damages the module HP pool but doesn't incapacitate it but it doesn't hit the main health pool. It happens more frequently than anyone of us would like. Don't fret too much, I have experience much worse WTF like 6 pens for exactly zero damage on a full HP ship.

WarGambling are indeed working on this and they will change the ribbon being displayed (from Penetration to a new non-penetration one)

"Throughout the upcoming update, we continued to work on damage mechanics. Now, if you hit and penetrate torpedo bulges, but don’t penetrate the next layer of armor, a special ribbon will be hand out for shells, bombs and missiles.

These new ribbons will clear out what type of hit has been inflicted on the ship, without affecting the performance and survivability of some ships.

10% of the maximum damage of the shell will be inflicted in cases when “Penetration” ribbon was received after Secondary Armament or AA Defense guns penetration and in case of hit and penetration to a completely destroyed part of the ship.

Shells that hit destroyed Secondary Armament modules will now pass through and impact the ship, rather than hit for no damage as it used to be.

Improvements in mechanics will reduce the number of cases when the “Penetration” ribbon was received with no actual damage caused to a ship."

(IMO this is an overall survivability nerf to all ships)

1 or 2 I can take. But 5?!?! When I want citadels, accuracy is like =bleep= but when it hits non-critical parts, accuracy sigma is infinity.

Non-critical parts have magnets that attract shells. Such effective preventative measure.

On a serious note, that is why I run Aux. A. mod 1 on my BBs. 

Keeps my AA and secondaries guns alive and healthy, plus they also function as a sort of ablative armour as long as they are alive.

Too bad the next patch is going to change that. My BBs are going to see a bit of a hit to their survivability. :Smile_sad:

I had this the other day in random, first 2 shots pen ribbons (not over-pens) zero damage. Thought they were getting rid of that?
