I'm amazed how  WG is promoting gambling at this rate. 10 bucks for one RNG box. OMG.

You either buy them all for 100 bucks or you try hard with gambling. Can't i have the option for single captain buying ????

I mean WG buying options have always suck , i get the idea that business side of things are failing hard. This is even worse than the last cooperation ....

Look at the mission they give : Hood 10 pts captain ... I thought they say they will give AZ captain Azuma for free. @GOMBEE8626 can you please explain why WG make the change ?

Lootbox gambling has been crazy lucrative for gaming companies, which is why they fighting tooth-and-nail against countries' laws banning lootboxes.

Actually I would say it is the complete opposite. The success of lootboxes and bundled items showed WG they can easily get away with stuff like this. People will happily pay a whole lot of money for a bunch of stuff they don't need. I wish WG sells single capt too.

maybe no many people buy package or crates, WG could change selling model, but already someone buy packages XP.

Most countries are tightening laws around gambling and its evolved form in gaming. Even in my country there is law initiation against gambling online.

Soon , most countries won't allow lootboxes , so i guess this is the last chance for WG to hoard money from gambling.

Just noticed that , thanks for the heads up. Though with no way to obtain new containers in game , it will likely a Pay 2 get lure.

I was looking at getting just Prinz Eugen,but I am not going to spend $135 Aussie bucks extra on a pack just to get the one I want!

Instead of separate all the Azur Lane commander to one separately. They just put all togather (With trash like signal flags) and sell it at high price... Good Marketing Practice, right? (sarcasm). Insteal of have the potencial of people who will buy just one or two. They put a lot of trash in and make people don't wanna buy it anymore. Now they lost a lot of potencial customer.

Me myself is want all the commander tho. But ONLY the commander pack. No trash in the bundle. (Like the first wave commander pack).

I saw this coming with the HSF colab. In the next ARP x WoWS colab, there wouldn't be any free ship WG give out through missions.

Regarding Azuma, I confirm you can get her just with the usual containers. First clear the first Hood mission to get one basic Azur Lane container. Open it and you can now start collecting Azur Lane goodies. Once the collection is complete, you get Azuma.

I have a question for who bought any commander. Once you get an AL commander, can you set their voice as the default voice like with the APR commanders?

Yeah. Just like ARP. If the voice is the only thing you are after , here is the ripped audio. Just put it in the res_mod/current game version and you are good to go.

It is all gloves off as they know that every weeb in the game will be salivating like mad for this.   They could have whacked the prices up to $20 a box and they still would have sold.

i know my money is safe as houses.  I deliberately tried not to get any arp ship and I still got 7 in port.  At least this gives me a choice of not owning this stuff.

I wouldn't mind getting the 2nd wave captains, but why does the bundle come with credits, flags and other nonsense I do not need?

Regarding the ships, none of them look interesting. Montpelier looks to be a Cleveland-clone with slightly less RoF and more HP. The shop says it has more accuracy but the wiki shows the same dispersion, maybe it has better sigma? I don't know.

Yukikaze... well let's just say I am still very miffed that WG took one of the most famous IJN ships, slapped on F3 torps as a gimmick and called it a day before shoehorning her in as a freaking collab ship. I mean does AL have no other IJN ships? Could we have not used such a well-known name for such a boring gimmick? Granted I know the fans probably voted her in but WG could have at least tried to make her more unique.

Sad to say that as much as I am a weeb and want to support anime collabs, the ships seem like a low-effort cash grab to fleece anime fan by using the AL name. Come on WG.

So the shop says that apparently Montpelier's and Yukikaze's unique camo give more xp and credits, still very meh imo.

This is a poor sap of marketing strategy. I am infuriated with this. Just like the rest of certain bundles which some of us do not wished for a signals.

I have my right of point to complain to them for trying not to strategize Individual Selling Characters.

I've been waiting for Second Collaboration for far too long and this is what they expect me THIS?!

I wanted a Kaga so badly, and you further make me need to go further with my payment. Thats steep too low and you're trying to become more and more of a EA with Lootboxes.

Nowonder Belgium and Netherlands had a harsh ban on Lootboxes.

this is pretty damaging not just because people not willing to jump down and get the largest pack taht is filled with things they don't want other than 1 specific character or all the characters but not the random stuff we dont need,

People will instead end up not even buying anything (which this point has been said above )

People will start to doubt the game's future content, making some players literally dropping the game or turn to just F2P this game and not bothering supporting at all

I think they are selling at $10 because each box comes with 10 point captain. If they reduce the price, then it will be RNG taking care if you even get a captain.

But to us, some will be disappointed because, they got the guaranteed commander they don't like even if its 10 dollars. so 10 point captain dont mean anything. they're just the same as regulars but reskinned like TF2 and Voicing . Should make 10 dollars individual.

I will nearly guarantee weegee don’t care and will still make and absolute fortune out of this.  Their marketing teams aren’t dummies.  Look at the amount of premium CVs in queue now after they created more salt in game than the Dead Sea?    They know this game is full of weebs and the attraction is too much and for every person who says it it too much and won’t buy it, another ten will be falling over themselves to buy this crap.

That's the nominal price of a 10 pt captain, true. The difference here is that the choice of which 10 pt captain you get is up to WG, and - key point - duplicates are allowed.

So anyone wanting a single captain for a specific ship might have spend upwards of $200.

Reddit is full of salty tears this morning, from people who bought 10 containers and got Yukikaze 10 times...

WG gamed this out. Only a few of the captains are popular, and the diehard Weeb audience are willing to pay whatever it takes to get them. Lotteries make more money for them than straight up purchases, simple as that.
