Hi WG Dev team,

Good day to you all, I would like to propose branch lines for the German tech tree.

Please have a look and consider this suggestion.

IMG_0001.jpg

BB will have 2 branch, the battleship and battlecruiser branch

CA/CL will have 3 branch, light cruiser, heavy cruiser, and pocket battleship
The pocket battleship branch will merge together with the battlecruiser branch at T9. This is due to limited information on Germany's Plan Z, and since Gneisenau's main armament was upgraded to

DD will have 2 branch, the 128 mm (5 in) branch and the 150 mm (5.9 in) branch.
At T8, Z 23 had the option to mount wither 128 mm (5 in) or 150 mm (5.9 in), but looses the 150 mm (5.9 in) at T9, the Z46. The branch line will allow the player to play the 150 mm (5.9 in) at T9 and T10.
Like the Italian T9 and T10, Germany also labeled them as cruisers "Spahkreuzer / SP" but they are comparable to France's Mogador class Large Destroyer, hence they can still be counted as destroyers "Zerstorer / Z"

Today I'll start in the reverse order. I'll start from the destroyer aka "loliboats"

Original DD line is untouched and will only explain the branch line or the "150 mm (5.9 in) branch"

T9 SP1 / Z40

Note: Basically a Z46 armed with 6 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/ 48 guns (3 x 2). Arrangement of 1 forward, 2 aft turret.
Note: Due to her size, she is also mounted with 10 - 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 5)
Note: Germany intended to hide her "cruiser" size by naming her Z40, only later to be named SP1.

T10 SP? / Z ??

Note: Basically a Z52 armed with 6 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/ 48 guns (3 x 2). Arrangement of 2 forward, 1 aft turret.
Note: Due to her size, she is also mounted with 10 - 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 5)
Note: Like in the previous tier, Germany intended to hide her "cruiser" size by naming her Z??, only later to be named SP?.
Note: Due to her design, she can counter the French Mogador, French Le Fantastique, Italian Etna, Italian Attilio Regolo " Capitani Romani", and the Russian Khabarovsk.

Next is Cruisers. Will update in the following days.

Cruisers

Personal Thoughts:
Looking at German pocket battleships, their armor is paper thin, like light cruiser armor thin. The reason they exisit is because "German Engineering". They found a way to arm a cruiser with 280mm (11in) main armament, while complying to the armistance treaty. (British heavy cruisers will also face the same issues. See British Tech Tree Suggestion) Expect to be citadelled alot.

OK now I have stated my concerns lets proceed to tech tree suggestion:

No changes will be made from T1 to T4 Cruisers and T8 to T20 Heavy Cruisers. Changes will start from T5 and will split into 3 techs. Light Cruiser, Heavy Cruiser, and Pocket Battleship.

T5 Emden 1925 (CL)

Armament:
8 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/45 guns (8 x 1)
3 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/45 guns (3 x 1)
4 - 500 mm (20 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 2)

Note: Not to be confused with T2 Premium Emden 1909
Note: If you are familiar with playing with Karlsruhe [DE] Omaha [US] and Emerald [GB] playstyle, then Emden will be no stranger to you.
Note: Frome here, T6 will be researchable into 3 branches. (Light Cruiser, Heavy Cruiser, Pocket Battleship)

Light Cruiser

T6 Königsberg

Armament:
9 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/25 guns (3 x 3)
2 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/45 guns (2 x 1)
12 - 500 mm (20 in) torpedoes tubes (4 x 3)

Note: Goes up 1 tier as a light cruiser.
Note: May add some changes to be able to compete at T6. (Consumables? Theoretical AA Armament?)

T7 Nürnberg

Armament:
9 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/25 guns (3 x 3)
8 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/32 guns (4 x 2)
8 - 37 mm (1.5 in)/30 guns (4 x 2)
8 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 guns (4 x 2)
12 - 533 mm (21.0 in) torpedo tubes (4 x 3)

Note: Goes up 1 tier as a light cruiser.
Note: May add some changes to be able to compete at 7. (Consumables? Theoretical AA Armament?)

T8 M-Class (Double Gun Mount)

Armament:
8 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/36 guns (4 x 2) {Guns are Graf Zeppelin 150 mm (5.9 in)}
4 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/32 guns
8 - 37 mm (1.5 in)/42 guns
4 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 guns
8 - 533 mm (21.0 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 4)

Note: Plan Z light cruiser
Note: Fewest guns for a light cruiser, but with 1/4 penetration value, she can cause some damage compared to other light cruisers which has only 1/6 penetration value.
Note: Like all Plan Z ships, they will start as Double gun mount then later as Triple gun mount

T8 Q or R (M-Class Premium (Double Gun Mount))

Armament:
8 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/36 guns (4 x 2) {Guns are Graf Zeppelin 150 mm (5.9 in)}
4 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/32 guns
8 - 37 mm (1.5 in)/42 guns
4 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 guns
8 - 533 mm (21.0 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 4)

Note: Plan Z light cruiser
Note: Fewest guns for a light cruiser, but with 1/4 penetration value, she can cause some damage compared to other light cruisers which has only 1/6 penetration value.
Note: Like all Plan Z ships, they will start as Double gun mount then later as Triple gun mount
Note: Like Admiral Hipper and Prinz Eugen, Q or R is the Prinz Eugen of the M-Class. Larger, Faster, Better.

T9 M-Class (Triple Gun Mount, 88 AA)

Armament:
9 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/36 guns (3 x 3) {Guns are Graf Zeppelin 150 mm (5.9 in)}

or
12 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/36 guns (4 x 3) {Guns are Graf Zeppelin 150 mm (5.9 in)}

4 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/32 guns
8 - 37 mm (1.5 in)/42 guns
4 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 guns
8 - 533 mm (21.0 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 4)

Note: Plan Z light cruiser
Note: If the devs go for the (3 x 3) configuration, she might look like Roon, but armed with 150 mm (5.9 in) insted of 203 mm (8 in)
Note: Like all Plan Z ships, they will start as Double gun mount then later as Triple gun mount

T10 M-Class (Triple Gun Mount, 105 AA)

Armament:
12 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/36 guns (4 x 3) {Guns are Graf Zeppelin 150 mm (5.9 in)}

Note: Goes down 1 tier as a heavy cruiser.

T7 "Ersatz Roon"

Armament:
8 - 210 mm (8.3 in)/45 guns (4 x 2)
Later:
8 - 203 mm (8 in)/34 guns (4 x 2)

4 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/32 guns
8 - 40 mm (1.6 in)/28 guns
4 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 guns
12 - 533 mm (21.0 in) torpedo tubes (4 x 3)

Note: Temporary name as Ersatz Roon
Note: Transition from old 210 mm (8.3 in) short barrel gun to 203 mm (8 in) long barrel Admiral Hipper gun significantly increasing her punching power at T7.
Note: Her appearance may look like a mix of Nürnberg and Admiral Hipper. She is a heavy cruiser after all.

T8 Admiral Hipper

8 - 203 mm (8 in)/34 guns (4 x 2)
12 - 105 mm (4.1 in)/31 guns (6 x 2)

16 - 37 mm (1.5 in)/30 guns (4 x 4)
16 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 guns (4 x 4)?
6 - 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 3)

Note: Goes up 1 tier as a pocket battleship.
Note: Gneisenau will now also have 8 to 10 km seconady battery like Bismarck
Note: Merges to O Class Battlecruiser at T9. From there onwards, you will play as a battleship. The merge is due to Gneisenau's armament.

Opinion Needed: Should Gneisenau have 2 separate models (1944 as Battleship and 1938 as Cruiser), or merged together at T8 as a battleship/battlesruiser and her armament will be upgraded like how the Mogami is upgraded?

Next is Battleships. Will update in the following days.

Battleships

No change on the original battleship tech tree, excpet for T7 battleship, while adding the battlecruiser tech tree branch.
Gneisenau T7 will be replaced with battleship L21a or L22c. Gneisenau will be moved to T8 as a battlecruiser rather than as a battleship.
Gneisenau will also get benefits like the Bismarck is being played at T8. Better health pool, and the signature German battleship gameplay, 7km base range for secondary guns.

Battleships

T7 L21a or L22c

Displacement: 42,000T
Length: 235 m (771 ft)
Beam: 32 m (105 ft)
Draft: 9 m (29 - 30 ft)

Speed: 22.5 to 24.5 knots

Armament: (L21a)
8 - 380 mm (15 in)/45 guns (4 x 2)
12 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/45 guns (12 x 1)
8 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/45 or 105 mm (4.1 in)/45 guns (8 x 1 or 4 x 2)

Note: This version of battleship may look like P.E. Friedrich. Turret X and Turret Y has some space.

Armament: (L22c)
10 - 380 mm (15 in)/45 guns (5 x 2)
12 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/45 guns (12 x 1)
8 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/45 or 105 mm (4.1 in)/45 guns (8 x 1 or 4 x 2)

Note: This version of battleship may resemble Amagi. Turret X and Turret Y at the same level while Turret Z is 1 level lower.

Battlecruisers main goal is speed. However attaining this goal means sacrifices. (Number of guns or Gun Calibre/Caliber or Armor)
German battlecruisers sacrificed Gun Calibre/Caliber to attain that speed. Evident in Mackensen and Ersatz Yorck.
At T8 to T10 however, with advancements in technology, Gun Calibre/Caliber was maintained while maintaining 30 to 32 knots speed.

I will start the battlecruiser line at T5. Though I can add the Moltke class and the Seydlitz class as T4, however 1 of the 2 wing turrets will not be able to fire because of the superstructure blocking 1 of the 2 guns. Unless you show your entire belly to the enemy and get citadelled.
If you have played the Kaiser, then you know the pain and suffering of that playstyle.

Battlecruiser Branch

T5 Derfflinger

Armament:
8 - 305 mm (12 in)/50 guns (4 x 2)
14 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/45 guns (14 x 1)
12 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/45 guns (12 x 1)

Note: Plays like Kongou.
Note: British Battlecruiser Tiger shares this design, playstyle and tier. (See British Tech Tree Suggestion)

T6 Mackensen

Armament:
8 - 350 mm (13.8 in)/45 guns (4 x 2)
14 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/45 guns (14 x 1)
8 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/45 guns (8 x 1)

Note: Plays like P.E. Friedrich.

T7 Ersatz Yorck

Armament:
8 - 380 mm (15 in)/45 guns (4 x 2)
14 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/45 guns (14 x 1)
8 - 88 mm (3.5 in)/45 guns (8 x 1)

Note: Plays like P.E. Friedrich but with Bayern guns.

T8 Gneisenau 1944

Armament:
6 - 380 mm (15 in)/34 guns (3 x 2)
12 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/28 (6 x 2)
14 - 105 mm (4.1 in)/33 (7 x 2)
16 - 37 mm (1.5 in)/30 (8 x 2)
16 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 (4 x 4)?
6 - 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 3)

Note: Gneisenau move to T8 Battlecruiser from T7 Battleship.
Note: She gets the Bismarck treatment. 7.5 km base range for secondary batteries.
Note: She has torpedos.

Opinion Needed: Should Gneisenau have 2 separate models (1944 as Battleship and 1938 as Cruiser), or merged together at T8 as a battleship/battlesruiser and her armament will be upgraded like how the Mogami is upgraded?

Just a Thought: Would it be possible if the following 7 ships can interchange their tier depending on their ship role. (Example T7 as a battleship but becomes T9 as a cruiser and Vice versa) Alaksa [US], Azuma [JP], Kronshtadt [RU/SU], Dunkerque [FR], Scharnhorst [DE], Andrea Doria [IT], and "British Alaska" [GB]

T9 O class (Double)

Armament:
6 - 380 mm (15 in)/34 guns (3 x 2) possible to upgrade to 406 mm (16 in)/ 34 (3 x 2)
12 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/28 (6 x 2)
14 - 105 mm (4.1 in)/33 (7 x 2)
16 - 37 mm (1.5 in)/30 (8 x 2)
16 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 (4 x 4)?
6 - 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 3)

Note: Like the Friedrich der Grosse (H39 / H41), Double meanse 2 guns per turret .
Note: She gets the Bismarck treatment. 7.5 km base range for secondary batteries.
Note: She has torpedos.
Note: T9 and T10 German battlecruiser sacrifice number of guns to attain speeds of 30 to 32 knots.
Note: Gneisenau 1938 merges to O class from pocket battleship to battlecruiser.

T10 O Class (Triple)

Armament:
9 - 380 mm (15 in)/34 guns (3 x 3) possible to upgrade to 406 mm (16 in)/ 34 (3 x 3)
12 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/28 (6 x 2)
14 - 105 mm (4.1 in)/33 (7 x 2)
16 - 37 mm (1.5 in)/30 (8 x 2)
16 - 20 mm (0.79 in)/38 (4 x 4)?
6 - 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes (2 x 3)

Note: Like the Grosser Kurfürst (H39 / H41), Triple meanse 3 guns per turret.
Note: She gets the Bismarck treatment. 7.5 km base range for secondary batteries.
Note: She has torpedos.
Note: T9 and T10 German battlecruiser sacrifice number of guns to attain speeds of 30 to 32 knots.

Premium Battleships

T5 Viribus Unitis

Armament:
12 - 305 mm (12 in)/45 guns (4 x 3)
12 - 15 mm (5.9 in)/47 guns (12 x 1)
18 - 66 mm (2.6 in)/47 guns (18 x 1)
4 - 66 mm (2.6 in)/47 guns (4 x 1) could be more
?? - AA Guns

Note: As of May 2019, Viribus Unitis, a Austro Hungarian Batleship, will be represented by germany in World of Warships. It is unknown if Austro-Hungarian ships will be combined with Germany or separate entirely and represent Austria Hungary as a separate nation.

T6 Ersatz Monarch

Armament:
10 - 350 mm (13.8 in)/45 guns or 10 - 380 mm (15 in)/45 guns (2 x 3 and 2 x 2)
14 - 150 mm (5.9 in)/47 guns (14 x 1)
8 - 90 mm (3.5 in)/?? guns (8 x 1)
2 - 47 mm (1.9 in)/40 guns (2 x 1) could be more
12 - 90 mm (3.5 in)/?? AA guns ( x )
?? - AA Guns

Note: As of May 2019, Viribus Unitis, a Austro Hungarian Batleship, will be represented by germany in World of Warships. It is unknown if Austro-Hungarian ships will be combined with Germany or separate entirely and represent Austria Hungary as a separate nation.
Note: Although guns were made by Skoda (yes the automobile company now owned by VW), her 350 mm (13.8 in) guns almost match Mackensen's guns.
Note: There were plans to arm her with 380 mm (15 in) guns, but ultimately admiralty chose the 350 mm (13.8 in) guns insted.

I know some of the suggested ships may not make it as WG will put other ships that were not available in the books or internet, but I am sure they are working on to complete the French tech tree.

And here ends the suggestions details. Please let me know if I have missed any ship details in the suggestion list. Or if you feel that some ships are not in the right tier, please let me know.
And please WG, please consider this request. Thank you.
