Well I seem to have picked up a slew of new ships lately and my fleet has started to become overwhelming. Nibbling at the edges of many ships, nations and captains is starting to feel fruitless.

I need to focus so I started to try to narrow it down to building up captains with perks and/or using my few high captains. "Narrow it down" - now that's a laugh... well, I tried anyway.

I'm going to try to focus on these captains/ships...

My idea is to get as many useful captains/ships up to 19 points so I can overflow into new captains for easier training/gaming down the track.

German Battleship Line training Franz Von Jutland (12 points - trained to Bismarck at the moment):
Note: I don't think much of his Vigilance Perk and probably won't use it. It's not trained at the moment which makes his Jack of All Trades the only real perk I will be using on him. Also, he has Manual Secondaries at the moment - of less use on Graf Spee but still fun.
Graf Spee
Scharnhorst
Tirpitz
Bismarck

German Destroyer Line training Karl Kastner (18 points - trained to T-22 - normal captain):
Note: I actually don't much like his build and will probably respec him. Regardless he is close to overflowing his XP into my shallow and near empty Elite Commander XP pool so I might as well get him there.
T-61
T-22

American Destroyer Line training Patriot Alex (12 points - trained to Gearing at the moment):
Note: He has Expert Marksman and it is trained at the moment. I think it's overkill on US Destroyers but it does make getting your guns on target doing full turns firing and under fire completely effortless.
Monaghan (Gunboat)
Sims
Kidd
Gearing (I have the unique module - I should use this ship more)
Indianapolis (Not perfectly suited to training a destroyer captain but might as well use her)

Japanese Destroyer Line using Taro Yoshida (19 points - trained to Hatsuharu at the moment - normal captain):
Note: There seem to be overlapping useful skills between IJN destroyers and cruisers. This line/training could easily overlap into the IJN cruiser line. His XP of course goes straight to Elite XP which is great.
Kamikaze R
Hatsuharu
Asashio
ARP Takao
Atago B

Russian Cruiser Line training Viktor Znamensky  (13 points - trained to Budyonny at the moment):
Note: I have all three of his special perks trained at the moment. I hope these aren't a waste. They seem okay. I am a little concerned about BFT and AFT down the track though - Kronshtadt doesn't seem to benefit from them much and training a Russian Cruiser captain who isn't good on Kronshtadt seems wasteful.
Krasny Krym
Budyonny
Kronshtadt
Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya

Russian Destroyer Line training Comrade Alex (10 points - retraining to Gnevny at the moment):
Note: Seems a natural fit as many have said. All his perks are trained which again, seems a no-brainer.
Gnevny
Leningrad

British Cruiser Line training Jack Dunkirk (12 points - trained to Fiji at the moment):
Note: I have all his perks trained at the moment and that seems fine - even though the extra smoke radius may be superfluous. Naturally there are many overlaps between UK DD and CL lines which means they are very interchangeable.
Gallant
Cossack
Fiji

Commonwealth Australian Cruiser(?) Line training Daniel James (13 points - trained to Perth at the moment - normal captain daggnabbit):
Note: Australian bias, mate. Still haven't PvPed much with Perth. Think I need CE before I try it. I went for DE/IFHE first for PvE/Ops.
HMAS Vampire
HMAS Perth
HMCS Haida
(Soon my pretty, soon)

Well that's what I'm going to try to focus on.

Of course upcoming Snowflake and other special events might throw a spanner in the works but like the Buddhists say - "The Supple reed bends in the wind but the angry gamer gets chat banned"

Or something like that anyway.

I wish I was more Zen.

Dammit.

I want to do something like this.... :Smile_hiding:

[EDIT] Just gonna post a screenshot to avoid long listing.

Ok, so basically these are the ships that I could be arsed to play, as I have marked them as primary.

primary.thumb.JPG.457ffa7a241d87caca9bab9caed7b718.JPG

Active grinds: Algerie, Mogami, Baltimore, Cleveland, Ognevoi, Hipper, Monarch, Richie, Donskoi, FdG.

Captain wise - don't really remember. Most of these ships have at least 16 points captains, including a good number of 19s.

Whew, that's a looooong list...

I just focus (mostly) on grinding my non elite ships to premium status, and working slowly up all lines, with eventual goal to unlock all T10s (in the tech tree, no interest in steel or coal ships atm) and putting 19pt captains on them. But otherwise, as a casual gamer, i’m Not fussed.

That said, I also focus on many events, and now that I have Cossack, I am aiming for Dreadnought, which is taking up most of my spare time each day. With my low win rate, I can’t afford to spend 20 minutes in random only to lose, so I’m mostly playing co-op and operations (which can be a risk as discussed in other threads, but more reliable than random), which have lower xp rewards and credit rewards is co op, and a limited ship selection in ops. Not that I don’t like my op capable T6, 7s &8s and want high skilled commanders on them, but they’re not currently on my non elite grind list.

Yeah.

That's exactly what I did.

I spent some time making lists and looking at my captains and ships and marked the my priority ships as primary.

I haven't done the math, but I have heard it suggested that the faster game time and almost guaranteed win in coop can make it a reasonable time investment compared to random.

But I haven't done the math.

That said, I have played mostly coop and ops lately, it's just lower stress... well, I do get worked up over ops sometimes, but that's on me 😄

HA!

Then THIS happened... I don't know if I have thrown a spanner in my own works...

I realised I only had 30k left on Bismarck so I flagged up, did a quick grind and voila!

I got about 10k for a winning battle and 5k for a lose.

Karl got respecced back to Battleship duties and my 14 point captain is going to stay on Bismarck.

So now I'm down a German DD captain but I have an 18 pointer retraining on Fr. D. Grosse but who I can use freely on my other German BB premiums! (And Graf Spee).

He will soon to be overflowing Elite Commander XP as well!

Secondaries baby!

Pew pew!

Once Karl gets his last point, I guess it will go on Adrenaline Rush.
