A note about the black ship's available in the store

So, something I learned the hard way is that one needs to ALWAYS read the full description of an item purchased at the online store. The black-ship version of the tier 8's currently being sold (Tirpitz, Mass, ect,) all come with a personal mission to gain 250 doubloons per battle for ten battles...but this mission requires you to ALREADY have the original ship in question (not the black version) in your port. So, if you buy the black version of the Mass, you need to already own the Mass if you want the mission to work. Like a total idiot I didn't read that part and figured the whole thing was just a really good deal. Don't make the same mistake I did. 

So, the upside is that I got a few new tier 8 ships that I have wanted for a long time...so it's not exactly the worst thing in the world. Also: that new camo looks amazing, so that's a plus too. The downside is that, had I known, I probably wouldn't have purchased two ships and instead spent my cash a bit differently. Again: don't make the same mistake I did.

EDIT: I did also write a ticket to support about the thing, but I don't actually expect them to refund or exchange anything because I was stupid. I wrote the message politely and totally owned up to it being my fault, but yeah, I doubt it will do anything.

The B version is already a great deal

Its 30% off after all. Massa is very fun , asha is broken , Atago is solid and derpitz is for clutz.

So they got back to me and gave a big fat "no" to the refund or exchange idea. It's a bit of a bummer, but again: not exactly the worst thing in the world either. 

I do hope this message gets to some others that might otherwise make my same foolish mistake.

Looks like you only get the doubloon mission for bought ships. I couldn't find any mention of the mission for ships you "win" from crates.

Yeah I been looking at that too they get a bit ambiguous at times. Did you see the Armada deal every premium ship for $950 like who has that sort of spare money. I'd want a date with Dasha as well for that sort of coin .

Those Black ships do look nice but.

I'm actually kinda interested in Massachusetts B as it's quite a discount there.

I'd like to ask if the type B ships are totally identical in characteristics, especially concealment, to the standard ships (e.g. Tirpitz vs Tirpitz B), and not like the standard Myoko vs those ARP Myoko ships (where the ARP clones can't mount a proper camouflage with concealment benefit)

 

Edit: and if we already have a standard Tirpitz in port and but a Tirpitz B, means we will have 2 Tirpitz(es) in port??

Yes, a nice deal indeed. I ended up with 28 days prem, ~100k FXP, 1500 dubs plus a boat load of useful cams. Even better if the standard ships land in my lap somehow - it was a suprise to learn that you had to have standard versions.

BTW, WG have stated that the B ships are identical clones of the originals.

Oh yeh, as an added bonus, you also get the 10pt commanders for the Black ships.

Yes, ships are identical in stats. And yes, you will have 2 Tirpitzes in port

Got massa in container and also got the dubs mission after 1 game. I only have the black massa.

I only wanted Massa and Ashashio but was lucky enough to get all of the black ships, 150K FXP, 5k dubs, 80 days prem account and heaps of camos in the bought crates.

If you play one battle in any of the black ships it will unlock the mission for the doubloons with the standard version of that ship.

10 missions in Atago for 250 doubloons each (Don't even have to win them. lol)

Brought 12 crates got no ships, same as how I purchased 16 of the "The Great Eight" crates, while they where on sale, and again got no ships.

Purchased the 'Massachusetts B' but low and behold the dubloon mission it has is for the 'Massachusetts' not the 'Massachusetts B' so if you are like me and don't have the normal Massachusetts you got totally screwed.

I am really sick of getting ripped off by WG.

Sorry to hear that Shadow. Yes, it appears that one has to dig very deep through the announcements to find what you need to know. Even with NoZoup trying to help with his crate opening its easy to miss some critical info. He does try to cover a lot.

Hopefully you will enjoy her any way. I tried changing Atago's camo and it worked.
