Starting from update 0.8.0, Tier IX ships Musashi and Kronshtadt will no longer be available to purchase with Free XP and also cannot be obtained for Coal in the game client.

These ships are becoming extremely popular for their tier, and to avoid Tier IX battles becoming packed with them, as well as to maintain diversity, we decided to remove the possibility of purchasing or obtaining these ships for an indefinite period. As such, they have already been replaced with French Tier IX battleship Jean Bart, with plans in progress to introduce another ship of the same tier in future.

We understand that accumulating resources for these ships is a long process, which is why we wanted to warn you in advance so that those of you who are interested can steer these ships into your Ports before Update 0.8.0 goes live. You have approximately two months remaining to get Musashi and Kronshtadt.

A T10 that got shoehorned into T9 and a Russian ship? I'm glad I'm that ignorant.

Neutralshiny, Azuma and Alaska must be next in the free xp roster.

So.... taking T9 ships off market to replace with another T9 ship. Missouri all over again?

Is this what T9 ships are going to be like? Available for a while then removed and replaced? Why?

Is it’s because they’re overpowered? In which case why were they introduced? Is it because they’re T9?

Why are they so popular compared to other ships, why is that a problem? It takes about as much effort to grind a Yamato. Are there not popular premium T8 ships?

Is it because you can get them for ‘free’ rather than paying for something like the Jean Bart? Is that it? Time will tell if the same fate awaits the Jean Bart, or if it is immune due to having to buy. (I do wonder if as many people bought the JB as those that have Missouri’s & Musashi’s they would get rid to the JB, I somehow don’t it.)

I don’t particularly like this artificial scarecity of ships, this fear of ‘missing out’ if you don’t get now.

That said, I’m not particularly fussed, I have a Missouri, which is the superior money maker, and I have the Yamato, I see no reason to expend money and/or effort to get the Musashi.

The good thing is it will mean less ships which can overmatch my bow armor.

Oh, right Kronstadt is there too...hmmm... Still seems like too much effort considering I haven’t played any USSR ships past T6. Could just use the FXP to jump to Moskva... Eh, I’ll think about it, but I’ve got better things to spend money and time on.

This ship was released in May this year... If it’s that popular and OP, why was it even released?

Missouri.  Not OP but the best of all the 3 ships.  Does have radar and a excellent ability to earn credits and XP.

Musashi.  Not OP.  An inaccurate Yamato with terrible AA

Kronsdadt.  Not OP.  Cruiser fragility with BB guns.   Can be seen from outer space.

The are popular because they are available.

So. Alaska considerations aside - cuz we just don't know.

If there was one day left and you had to choose Kron or Sushi... you would pick...?

In other words, play lots or cough up some dough to convert XP if you want them now!

Why not both ? You can get 750k free exp in as little as 1 week if you are keen on grinding like a mad man.

Aside from that sushi is better, easier and much more influential than krons in a match.

See my post earlier about your chances of that happening.

I think both ships offer fair bit of advantage compared to tech tree tier 9. Simply because of their hp pool and fire power. Also worth noting they also come with improved premium camo, so the economy always good playing on those ships.

I guess you can say that they are 9.5 tier ship. Slightly op but still less powerful then T10 ship.

Personally, I will suggest to get Musashi first, and then if you have enough resources get Kronstahts as well.

For Jean Bart, you still have at least a year of time to get her. And I still yet to see a very good Jean Bart captain. Her potential is limited by small gun, poor hp pool and armour, especially in Asia server, the meta is very different from NA and EU.

I’m playing for about 18 months and have yet to see a ship in a SC.

As a guide, I thought I would do quite well from 40 x premium Halloween containers with the promising dubs and XP on offer - I got 1 XP container. But a ton of basic Halloween +100% XP cams. So no, I don't expect a Missouri to drop from a SC anytime in the next few years. But, grinding through the Halsy and Yamamoto campaigns may help just a little....
