Izumo is so much worse than I thought :(

So just reached the Izumo and OMG she's so damn terrible. I'm just speechless about it for a moment. In comparison, I would prefer play Amagi or Nagato. But this thing? It's so much worse than those two. 

She's big and a very solid target. And I don't know what to do. Either yoloing or long sniping doesn't work for me. When I about to go to cap and spot a Yamato, I quickly turn around and eat some citadel. Ouch. That's also the same for sniping mode. I don't have a good aiming skill. Whenever I aim at a broadsiding target, my shells are just full of overpens, shatters, or ricochets.

Also she's a very attractive and thicc. Once I got spotted, the enemy instantly focusing on me and I'm basically dead. 

And I still didn't know how to be an aggressive BB. Seriously, she's still lacking in dispersion and survivability.

Moreover, There's always one bloody DD that sneak up to me and makes me spotted and focused in the entire game. This situation is the worst I can get. Because I'm trying so hard to kite and the enemy are still firing at me. A.K.A being out ranged. 

What's more challenging is that using a ship like Izumo will take me into a patience test. Because I'm in a ship that everyone hates. Just like Friederich der grosse and Ibuki. It became worsen by the fact that I'm also forced to be an aggressive BB in tier 10 match so that I can earn more credits to pay the post battle service. There some players out there that end up regret using her and using their real money to skip her instead. ugh.

I played 80 battles then free XP to Yamato. Only to find I didn’t have enough credits to fully outfit her.

A lot? but she only receive deck armor buff. She need more than that.

Atlanta, everyone hates. Belfast, KamiR, everyone hates.Those T9 ships, not really. It's more that unlike Yamato, Kurfurst, and Zao, you typically find that the captains are not quite so skilled and/or relatively unfamiliar with their boat so more likely they'll be making themselves easy prey.

9 times out of 10, looking at Izumo+Yamato, if the BB is doing something stupid it's an Izumo. Typically it's running in too close, too early in a game or getting isolated on a flank.

There is a problem with many T9 ships in this game: people hate them. Not that they are horrible, but people hate them, for reasons unknown to me.

 

Izumo is somewhat an oddball, because of her ABC turret arrangement and phallus-shaped superstructure tower. Yes. Phallic superstructure. I do not want that ship in my port.

That's not what I mean. I hate Atlanta, Belfast, and KamikazeR if they are in the opposing team. But I hate Izumo, Friederich, and Ibuki if I use them.

Ah.... I see now. It's true it's hard to find someone with a good word for Izumo or FdG. Ibuki though... is a good ship. Or at least I and a few others think so. But Izumo ... yeah... seems to be as close to universally reviled as any ship in the game.

It comes down to personal preference I suppose.

I never had a problem with the Izumo. Grinded her out even before the recent armour buff.

The FDG and Ibuki on the other hand are utter trash to me. FDG is just a bigger and clumsier Bismarck, while the Ibuki feels very lacklustre. Low DPM, gets citadeled from any direction, it is basically a 203 Mogami but with a heal and longer range, but you can't even use that range properly due to its low shell velocity. Glad the Ibuki is getting buffed, too bad the buff came after I grinded her.

It was almost a source of pride that I didn't skip any lines... but the Izumo... after grinding all the hulls to try and make it work.... I skipped.

Same. I was determined that I wont skip anything in the game. Which up to that point I didn't even skip stock hulls, engines or gfcs. After unlocking those on Izumo I played a few more and decided I couldn't live with this ship. The only ship I have ever skipped in like 3 years. A huge #respect to anyone who played Izumo well. True BB player.

Mine had CE, thought I think FP might be better for most people (I am one of those weirdos who seldom pick FP, even on BBs.) But ideally you want both.

Assuming you are not showing a full broadside and are angling properly, Izumo is pretty tanky against AP, so you only really have to worry about HE spam. With the recent armour buff, direct damage from HE spam is a lot less of a worry, so you take FP to minimise fire damage for maximum tankiness.

Though to be frank, when it comes to facing RN BBs in my BBs, I am more concerned about fires, not so much the direct damage, which is why FP is recommended. Nothing is more irritating then a RN BB setting 2 fires on one salvo, putting out the 2 fires, then getting another 2 fires on the next salvo.

Huh? Any fire burns you for same amount of damage, in that case, a Zao / Des Moines / Hindenburg are a lot more scary. Reason why people are so afraid of RN BBs is not their fires. Its the raw HE alpha they pump into you. While you can angle against AP, you can't angle against HE. And each conqueror salvo will take 10k from you. Point is, you can't really do anything about that.

I grind the Izumo from stock to full without spending a single FEXP on it. It was the most horrible nightmare i've ever had next to the FDG.

Cheer up man , atleast the Izumo is better than the FDG.  Its the stinker of the tier for a reason.

If you really want to know whats being a tough man means , try FDG .

8 guns , accuracy is not avail , terrible gun arcs , is a truck to turn , its armour is not tough to crack ( but is its selling point , which is the problem ). Secondaries are good , but NOT that good.

The ship can be seen from the moon to add salt to injury and its hydro is situational at best.

The Izumo at the very least can fire 6 shells at any time compare to FDG 4.

In most matches , you struggle to find a way to get close or die trying to run away.

Even going thru iowa is awful for me

Everyone point their bow towards me i struggle to do damage, if not this i get huge damage angling by T10 bb if not this i get burn to death

Then the dispersion is just infuriating most of the time, shoot at angling target the dispersion will be awesome but shoot broadside ships the shells go everywhere

Well i didnt play izumo yet but i'm gonna just fxp to yamato and save the frustration
