The war was so horrific it was thought no more wars would ever be fought. Sadly, that never came to pass. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." Lest we forget.

Some of the stories he told of the nightmare they all went through was eye opening. Thank you Grandpa for your sacrifice and help giving us the freedoms we enjoy today. I'll never forget what you did for us all. /Salute Edited November 11, 2018 by Snarky_Wombat

Got gassed by the Germans 3 times with faulty/no gas mask, and ended up finishing the war fighting heroine addiction. Finally kicked the habit by the end of the 30's and lived to see the first moon walk in mostly good health the rest of his life. Everyone agreed, he was a tough old b@#$!$d. A salute to all those tough old b@#$!$ds from all the nations who fought. You truly changed the world, in some ways more than any other generation.

Pretty harrowing film, was hard for her to watch. If you get a chance, see it.
