No , you can get over 1k secondary hits using Magnu - S specced for secondaries. Easier , safer and on a captain provided for free. I have done it , and not even trying , since bots love to get close to you.

What's the trick? I seems that I can get between 500 and 700, but not 1000. 

Would I get more hits without manual secondaries? That would allow secondaries on both sides of the ship to fire?

No , manual is right , you just have to be more agressive once the gorgon appear and DO NOT let the enemy disappear ( signal allied cruiser to radar for you ).

Also , DONT FORGET TO SWITCH TARGET ONCE IT IS DEAD !!!. 

In the game that i get 1k , i was escorting Trans right off the bat ( matching speed with her and slightly behind ), then when Rasp and Gorgon appear i double back and go to meet them.

Without manual , you will have many more misses ( around 50% miss rate infact ). Also , you can cheese it by selecting a Varg that no one shoot ( these things take forever to die with secondaries alone ).

Rasp also makes a good secondary bait. But can be quite dangerous if it constantly heal ( ask CV to stun it to prevent healing ).

Can i see which module you run on Magnu-S? I have Magnu-S with full secondary build but i can't get 100++ Secondary hits despite being 3KM close.

Thanks for the reply. I did this trying to maximize secondaries hit. I only fired main guns or torps occasionally, otherwise raking the biggest/closest target with secondaries, switching targets as soon as the target died or there was a better target.

I guess it just all has to come together for 1k+ hits.

All secondary gear, including flag but no Manual Control.

You mean upgrades?

I find that 300 secondaries hits is easy, 500 requires effort, 700 is hard work with constant checking of the map and switching targets, firing main guns and torpedos only rarely.

Many players don't fit modules for operations, but I was trying to optimize secondaries, so I did.

I generally see the end of the battle, or get close to it. I see you don't have manual secondaries... I guess getting close is the trick.

For a lot of the battle I positioned myself between as many enemies as possible.

There were MANY times when both sides of my ship were blazing with secondary fire.

What does manual get you? -60% to dispersion? 

That's -60% to dispersion and only firing at one target or, firing at up to 4 targets at once with normal dispersion.

I know 4 at once seems optimistic, but I have noticed that secondaries seem to have fore and aft quarters to their fire arcs and preferred auto targeting.

So two sides, 2 quarters per side...?

I have not done the math and I may be wrong but it seems like in this specific situation, in this specific scenario and in this most target rich of environments, manual fire may not yield the most number of secondary hits.

That's IF you can position yourself amidst as many enemies as possible.

Legionary managed to get 1000 with manual secondaries - but I don't know how he did it.

There is another 20% reduction of dispersion with modules, so they get pretty accurate.

Until my 790 game, I used the exact same tactics that he mentioned above but got nowhere near 790 until I turned back into The Filth permanently.

I actually engaged Rasputin point blank range when he/she/it appeared and used my shield to survive his initial broadside.

I was chasing Gorgon but foolishly ran aground while torping a Ziska else I would have got the evil CV as well.

Someone else killed Gorgon - it was a 5 star game.

I have both cooldown enhancers as captain skills. I think nothing of hitting damage control all the time. (I may have been running the cooldown enhance flag too).

I have never run out of repairs and try to do them on the 100k damage marks for extra efficiency.

I make an effort to share my repair field whenever I can too - more people on my team means more targets for the enemy fire to be split amongst! (There IS no altruism lol!)

My build is all about survive.

I don't think I went under half health in that 790 game at any stage - meaning adrenaline rush is possibly wasted...?

Wow , you guys ram Rasp ?

I didnt ram him , just let him slide side by side and pound him. Pretty easy to citadel the Rasp , and also , to the left of your screen , enemy usually spawn there when the 1st turret goes down.

They will usually try to attack the 2nd. Just position yourself there and you will have plenty of chances for your secondary to work.

Also , you may not want to 5 star a game , since you will lose out a few minutes for your 2nd to do the work. The game that i get 1k is a 3 star win with both turrets down.

ANd yes , i have notice that with 5 star , most will only hover around 600 secondary hits. With 4 star 800 is very likely.

And im not a fan of no manual , since most of the shots magically miss at point blank which piss me off.
